TLDR - Click HERE at 1800 Sat!

Now that the CSM Summer Meeting Minutes have been published, it's time for our next community Town Hall meeting. This is an opportunity for the community to hear from the CSM directly. With summer over and CCP heading into release planning for the winter expansion, the CSM will be looking to do these Town Hall meetings with more frequency, each one with an overall ‘theme’. This meeting will, of course, focus primarily on the recently released Summit minutes. Obviously there is a lot of ground to cover but we will try to do the best we can.

Once again, in order to ensure there is minimal technical problems and to prevent people from having to install / configure a third party client, we will be holding the Town Hall meeting live on EVE Radio.

BTW, if you are looking for a shorter version of the minutes, feel free to check this out:

Important Information

EVE Radio has set up a dedicated stream for this and all future meetings. All you have to do is go here:

EVE Radio CSM Town Hall

For this first meeting, we will be starting out by answering questions submitted in this and the other thread posted in General Discussion. If you are shy, please eve mail your questions to both Two step and Hans Jagerblitzen.

Please try to keep your questions clear and concise. If you are asking about a specific section or quote from the Summit Minutes, please reference it so both we and the other listeners can follow along and understand.

If we run out of questions we will also be monitoring the in game ‘EVE Radio’ channel and be following Twitter at #csmtownhall.

The official running time of the meeting will be two hours but a few of us may hang out longer than that to sing songs or tell stories about devs getting lost at 0300 in the morning.

Please tune in and enjoy!

I'll be lurking in the shadows... LIKE A NINJA. You won't see me, but I'll be there.

Here's a question for you though. Ask Hans if he ever plans to fly with us again. Last time he was having trouble figuring out how to carrier jump his stuff over. We can provide tutorial on such things if he needs it next time.

Hans isn't very smart, so I can see how jumping a carrier might confuse him. If you give him a ship, you might want to make sure it only has a few active modules, because he will have trouble figuring it out otherwise.

I have a few questions for the CSM :) I'm unlikely to be able to catch the broadcast though, is there going to be any record (written or audio) of the answers?

Q1: Aggression mechanics
It's mentioned in the CSM Summit minutes that low-sec gate guns will engage players for any offence, including "suspect" flagged-offences (currently the equivalent of Yellow aggression timers). Since that includes things as minor as can-flipping, is this likely to be reconsidered, and if not would it also apply to high-sec guns?

Q2: New POSes
With the new modular POS system, will the option for a true POS, as opposed to a COS, be available? I'd like to be able to set up a small hangout to keep a few ships and emergency supplies.

Q3: [General not just Summit] Can anything be done towards getting V3 skins sharpened up? As it stands, they're painfully blurry when zoomed in (the most obvious example I can bring to mind is the Raven).

Q4: [General] What's the CSM's opinion on Asuka Solo's PI 2.0 suggestion?

Q5: [Requisite humour] How likely is my CSM8 campaign, "What's a CSM? (from the team that brought you Operation Dread Intrusion)" to succeed?

When Soundwave was complaining about anom ratting being a large source of isk injection into the game in the CSM minutes, was the implied subtext that he thinks either l4 mission ratting or hisec incursion running should be the best isk source in EVE-Online? Which highsec activity do you CSM representatives think Soundwave thinks the EVE economy should be based around?

Alright I have a mining question if ya don't mind.

Was wondering if CCP could change the survey scanner, so it shows the M^3 the asteroid has instead of the quantity it has. It is annoying since, strip miners run in M^3 and not quantity, so you have to continually memorize for every asteroid or rememorize every asteroid, for every lvl increase.

Of course my theory is (why CCP choose that) is becuase it helps keep the art or realism intact. If they changed to M^3, it would show how some asteroids are bigger and smaller, when the visuals of the game show the opposite. I support that, but it is too annoying trying to use the scanner with the way it is set up.

Question: what is the state on updating (all) the Eve Lore on evelopedia (I think Torfi Ólafsson was in charge of that )?

PS: Can there be a timeline drawn on the main website where Eve events took place, maybe highlighted by the linking the chronicles / science articles, short stories and even expansions (discovery of wh's event) to it ?

Eve online is :

A) mining simulator B) glorified chatroom C) spreadsheets online

D) CCP Games Pay to Win at skill leveling, with instant gratification

A big picture question, if you will:

Development of the last two expansions has seemed very compartmentalised - one small team works on Feature X, another small team works on unrelated Feature Y, etc. There seems to be little or no joined-up developing where everyone is working on linked aspects of the same feature as we saw in Apocrypha (or, more controversially, in Incarna).

1) Do you think this approach is what we can expect for the foreseeable future?

2) Do you think there can be any progress on tackling the big issues in Eve as long as development is being conducted on those lines? How much can be done to fix the major long-standing problems we all know are fundamentally broken by a single team of 4 or 5 developers working in isolation for a single development cycle? Do you worry that we are seeing a trend towards applying hurried band-aid solutions and moving on, rather than spending the time to fix the issue properly the first time?

My question for the CSM is this:

Apocrypha, in 2009, was the last expansion that actually introduced new things to do in a spaceship. For the last 3 years, all we've actually had were PI, some PvE raids and Captains Quarters - and only one of those had anything to do with actually being in a ship. Whilst I'm very happy with the amount of small and large fixes and polishing that CCP have done in the last couple of expansions, what are the upcoming options for new things to do? Is it time for CCP to actually start expanding the game? Are CCP still ambitious and bold enough to build on the foundation of the new, improved, polished low-lag, game to once again give us some "new shiny" or are they still in panic FIX ALL THE PROBLEMS mode?

I presume the CSM and the radio-crew keep tabs on it, but for the people on the forum it may be worth noting that another copy of this thread is crossposted here:

Question,

What possible plans are on the table for the removal of "Off Grid boosting"? I Am sure I read somewhere in the minutes that the CSM think that it should not be in game (I Also think this).

Yo!

Question: "Whatss the CSM's position making Moon Minerals depletable as a quick fix for several (NullSec) Problems? So that when one moon is depleted the same ressource respawns at an prior empty one."

Why ? This would actually kinda bring a Spin in the Tech-Problem and bring up some some new War-Drivers to NullSec entities aswell as may split up existing Pacts . It would benefit the "dump" of Supers/Titans cause u actually got a good reason again to use them, and again it would sink the "Nullsec ISK" cause well, when a moon is empty u cant print Money.
Also note-able it would make Scanning moons useful again ( @CCP - why did you made us scan them at all in the first place if noone ever need to do it again?). Cause right now, noone scans them. There are Maps/databases that track each moon that got a mineral in it. Don't forget that it would bring more interest to Lowsec aswell cause 0.3 moons have minerals too!

question 1 :

concerning technium issue, there were 2 solutions I heard about :
1) ring mining, allowing moon minerals to be available in another way, and so increasing technium supply
2) rebalancing the components needed for tech2 production, and so limiting the need for technium

it seems those 2 would take time for the devs, but from your point of view, which one would be the easier to do (for the devs), and which one would be the more efficient (for the players) ?
and what do you think the devs will do ? trying both ?

question 2 :

the possibility was evoked of expanding faction warfare to all low sec, with the possibility of allowing some zones to be contested by a third force (pirates ? nullsec blocs ?)
do you think this will be good for FW ? do you think it will be good for lowsec ?

question 3 :

concerning POS, some ideas seemed nice for some parts of the game, but problematic for some others (ex : more than one pos by grid, and oustide of moon would be an issue for w-space gameplayn abd maybe elsewhere also)
does CCP prepare a system working the same way for everywhere, and having different rules depending of security level, sov and so on ? as currently only pos' modules are limited that way, not major systems

What measures is the CSM looking into to try to get a larger percentage of the EvE populous involved in the CSM Voting process and to get the player base to understand why we have a CSM?

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

Hello !

Question 1: What is CCP position about sniping at more than 150km ? Can we hope a fix ? A change in probing mechanisms ? (It could a solution to see in-grid command ships standing beside the snipers by the way)

Question 2: Is there any other change planned to improve the new unified inventory ?
We had, a bit more than a month ago, a positive reaction from devs about some suggestions we had made (a few players have taken a long time to explain precisely each point). A lot of 'little things' have been improved at the beggining of the month, I don't complain... And then, nothing. No news. Devs said that July was a vacation month, no problem with that, but we are mid august now :D

Question 1: Whilst entering warp one notices that it can take a considerable amount of time to accelerate to full warp speed and decelerate from full warp speed. This causes the problem that most of the time taken to warp is taken in the acceleration and deceleration more so than the actual warp speed of a ship. This creates a disadvantage for faster warping ships as it makes their faster warp speed far less relevant as well as warp speed rigs. What measures, that you know of, has CCP taken on this issue if any? Does the CSM overall think it's an issue? If so, does the CSM overall plan to push the issue with CCP in the future?

Question 2: It has been said that CCP no longer wishes to pursue "Jesus Features". What is the CSM's stance on this? If you were to have your own "Jesus Feature" what would it/they be (individual CSM members can answer)?

Question 3:Blobs are seen as being negative by the overall EVE community, what is the CSM's take on the issue? If the CSM does have an issue with blobs, what should be done about it? Does the CSM think there should be more remote A.O.E like the remote ECM burst and bombers? If so, what additional modules would you suggest that use this method?
