An update at long last...

Ok so time to finally give an update. I decided to keep things quiet while the Academy officially 'deployed', to blunt interest in joining (because we hate having to say no). We closed recruitment because we suspected our intended targets would try to infiltrate us.

So what did the Academy do?

The Academy, supported by ENL-I and some other members of TEST, deployed to Geminate to wreck havoc against Brick Squad. In all honesty we didn't get a lot of fights, but we met our objectives. The entire operation was fun, and the Academy dudes quickly realised how valuable they are, being able to fly those nice buffed T1 logis.


Mission accomplished cap'n!

So the deployment ended, and as though sensing our departure Legion of XxXXXxxxDeathXxxxWhatever have began hitting Brick Squad hard, and taking their sov. I like to think we softened Brick Squad up...

Anyway, deployment is over, recruitment has reopened, and we're looking to grow. We have several dedicated FCs who regularly take roams out, usually several times a day, and we fly anything from frigs, up to battlecruisers with logi support. The key is that our fleets are unified, not kitchen sink.

Whether you're a day old newbie, or a year old carebear, if you would like to begin a career in sov nullsec PvP then bob by to ENL-A for a chat.

Hi,

ExcalibursTemplar told me about you guys join and I'm interested in joining. However I'm not a hardcore player so to speak and I don't have a lot of time to play eve because of real live commitments (I have a family and I work permenant night shifts full time), are you guys ok recruiting casual players?

I am very new to eve and never done pvp, all I've experienced so far is mining and mission running. So I do want to sink my teeth into pvp :P

Do what I'm doing: log into the game and join the ENL-A channel. Talk to a recruiter there, have a nice little chat, and prepare to find 101 new ways to die gloriously.

Enlightened Academy begins its second nullsec deployment

Well, it's been an exciting couple of days for the Academy.

They have been running their usual operations around the Tama area, scoring some nice kills and getting involved in some bigger fights. And while this was going on I was looking at a new deployment for them; and I settled on Vale of the Silent.

A member of ENL-I's coalition, Li3 Federation, broke off and rejoined the CFC (our rivals, so to speak), and were handed space in Vale. I decided it would be good fun if our Academy dudes welcomed Li3 into their new home.

The thrashers have been purchased and moved, the newbies have been debriefed and the FCs are getting ready.

Suffice to say they're really excited, and ENL-I will be joining them for cheap thrills and, hopefully, lots of tears.

Let the slaughter begin!

So the Academy duders have now deployed to FDZ in Geminate. We're looking to work with PL in our harassment of Li3, and we've already began having some nice fights with the locals.

The Academy is having fun down in Vale, with PL BLOPS in support. Although minimal, ENL-A has seen out Black Core Alliance, which is an achievement.

Brief update




Well we took the Academy to Geminate to mess with Li3. We also got blue standings with Pandemic Legion and began flying with them too. Unfortunately, Vale is empty. We found very few people in Li3's space; it's like a ghost town. There are rumours there's a big spat going on between them and some other CFC members, but that's another story. Suffice to say, this is the second time the Academy has gone to Geminate, and each time it has been rather quiet.

We'll be moving them soon to a new deployment, again in nullsec, which will hopefully provide a lot more content.

In between nullsec fights, we have a regular spot in Tama which offers a rich variety of small gang PvP, so although it isn't nullsec it still provides that PvP we want.

We finished February with 260 kills; not quite as many as January, but only a few less. March has already began with a bang so we're hoping to make it a record breaking month.

Still going strong




PvPing Yo!

The Academy is still going strong despite the lack of updates.

We recently deployed to Torrinos, which gives us access into Pure Blind where several entities have deployed to mess with the CFC. It has been a lot of fun and we've had some nice kills, and got into some pretty big fights.

We are still mucking about in lowsec, so there's a constant stream of fights.


Teach me god-damnit!

The Academy staff have been working hard on improving our teaching materials, including our Wiki which is growing nicely. We do regular classes, regular slow-paced roams and of course we give you access to our large community where you can ask as many newbie questions as you like.

We're moving in the right direction, but there's still work to be done. Academy dudes moving over to ENL-I prove to be fantastic recruits so we're really happy with how we have done so far.


Now what?

Another deployment soon, now that the CFC have dropped the fist of pain on us (dropping supers/titans and hellcamping us). Not entirely sure where we're going, but it'll be fun!
