We're naughty, we are

So the Academy is becoming more active, thanks partly to me being back active and taking more roams out. We're doing a lot of thrasher fleets at the moment, just because they're so fun. You'd be surprised to see how many fleets of battleships flee from our menacing presence.

The other day we found it so difficult finding a fight that we ended up heading back to our staging system and suicide ganking some poor Mackinaw. What made the gank all the more delicious was the description of the corp he was in, which read "tears make the best lubricant". Oh the irony.

At the moment the Academy is pushing 100 members, which is some good going. We've brought in some more staff, including two new directors, because we're looking to begin a huge recruitment drive and aim to sit at 250 members. Now is definitely a good time to join if you're looking to get into PvP.

We've also extended the benefits Enlightened Industries offers its members; pilots in the Academy can now claim 50mil isk for leading a fleet, as well as weekly PvP payouts totalling 100mil isk. This is on top of free PvP ships, and free skillbooks.

The graduating members of the Academy who have come over to ENL-I have been great additions, and have helped to prove my theory that encouraged me to form the Academy; the theory that newbros make the best recruits. ENL-I recruits heavily from e-uni, and our Academy is just another tool we use to bring in what we believe to be excellent pilots, new enough to be moulded to our way of doing things, but experienced enough to know how to fire a weapon.

This is just going to be a short post, because we have an exciting announcement to make soon.

Academy is going well; we've reached 100 members now and our activity is ever increasing. We took the academy dudes on a roam with ENL-I, and we had over 50 in fleet which was mostly oracles/guardians, and we met up with a 100+ RvB gang, mostly frigs, and we had a right old scrap. For many academy dudes this was their first major fleet battle, and it was glorious. Thank god for logi is all I can say; 7 guardians/onieros meant our oracles stayed alive.

We've got a pretty big announcement to make soon. We've been working hard recently on improving what we already offer, and the genius that I am (as a CEO) I've had some awesome ideas. Stay tuned for some excitement!

Hi,
New player here. I like what you guys have to say and what you appear to be doing. I was just wondering if you still have space for new players. Thanks!

Hi B00YAH

The academy is not just for new players, but for anyone who has never previously PvP'd to any great degree, and looking to get into it. So bob along to ENL-A and get your app in!

Hi Kar

Due to the nature of the academy (once pilots complete their training plan they apply to ENL-I or another nullsec corp) it is unlikely we will ever stop recruitment. As above, come back to ENL-A and get your app in.

And thank you both for your kind words :)

Hello.

I have a few questions if you don't mind.

First of all, the curriculum you proposed has one primarily training in Min and Caldari ships and (I'm assuming) their respective weapons.

I am geared for Gallente combat, up to and including close range blaster fire and drones. In addition, my player skills primarily lie in Covert Ops. I was a scout when I dwelled in null for a few months.

Not that I have much experience in PvP, I was an industrialist and carebear for a good few years to build up my skillset before I set out into the world of PvP, and my character skills are well rounded. I just need experience.

The first question is thus: Will I need to train the Caldari/Amarr route and their respective weapons in your course, or should I stick to my current setups? (Not that I mind broadening my horizons, I'm just curious.)

Second, Will we be expanding on roles in Sov Warfare such as Scouting, Black Ops and Wolfpacks?

Third, what are your manufacturing capabilities for Gallente craft? If I brought BPs would you consider expanding it?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Introducing... The ENL-A Ranger!

The Art of PvP

As you should know by now, ENL-A is a training ground for a particular kind of PvP - Sov Warfare. Unlike other forms of PvP, Sov Warfare is mostly about getting into big fleets, following orders clicking buttons. It is fair to say that those who do this kind of PvP lose some of their skill. Because of this, in ENL-I, we champion solo PvP, and small gang, and regularly run small corp roams to try to encourage people getting back to basics. We even offer FC rewards for those who take small gangs out. This is solely to help keep our skill up, whilst still participating in coalition fleets.

We have decided to take this a step further. Rather than just teaching our Academy newbies about Sov Warfare, we are now going to encourage them to go out on their own and solo PvP.

Ladies and gentleman, I give you: The ENL-A Ranger.

Killing your cynos, laughing in your faces

We have just done a massive expansion to the Academy's office network, allowing more coverage of nullsec space. We now have offices in Placid, Molden Heath, Derelik and Curse, with more offices planned for Venal. We now have access to a large number of nullsec regions, which means we'll never grow bored again.

On top of this we have made a commitment to ensure each office is stocked full of ships. But what exactly is the benefit of being an ENL-A Ranger?

Well, for starters, you get s snazzy title. But seriously, the point is, is that we now have a hanger, imaginatively called Rangers, with fully stocked ships and ammo in. Being a ranger means you have access to this hanger and you can take out ships, purely so you can go off and find some solo PvP.

We have also begun running more trainer sessions, with an emphasis of what we do in nullsec - for example, we now run courses on "pod jumping", meaning we can travel several regions in just two minutes time.

The end result is that our members are now encouraged to go out and find their own PvP, increasing their own skill and knowledge of the game, with free ships provided to them and we even provide a 5mil reward per solo kill.

Getting better and better...

I hope this shows we are committed to the Academy, not just with free ships and skillbooks, but also in our efforts to continually monitor and improve what we do. We haven't just set this up and shouted GO; we're reviewing our processes every day.

The ENL-A Ranger is just another thing we're doing to give our newbies a great start to their EVE career. Oh, and did I mention medals? Everyone loves medals...

Interested? Bob on over to ENL-A for a chat today.

Short update

Hi guys, hope you all had a great new year, and Xmas!

Just a quickie...

The Academy is doing well. Roams are regular, we're getting some nice small gang fights, and we're now sitting at over 120 members. So, recruitment is going well, and we're now getting a steady stream of recruits moving over to ENL-I and they're enjoying themselves down here in null.

The Academy is now deploying to Stain to harass the locals. Kills have already started coming in, and all ships are provided for free. Regular roams being taken out, as well as lots of chances for solo work.

Bang Tidy

It has been a great week for the academy. We deployed them down to Stain to harass -A- and friends, with plenty of free rifters and thrashers in the corp hanger. So pissed off with their cyno ships being killed, -A- began to keep carriers on field repping their precious cyno ships. The Academy's activities were even noticed by TEST leadership.

I also don't think it's a coincidence that after a few days of our newblets harassing them -A- threw in the towel and admitted defeat. That's right, our Academy dudes were there when the remaining major corps in -A- announced their departure. We're keeping the deployment in Stain until the ships run out, then we're off for a new target.

We have revamped our skill plan - remember, skillbooks for the entire plan are provided for free - and we are now focusing on cruiser skills, including logistics cruisers, as well as replacing the Drake with the Oracle. The reason for this is simple; because of the buff to cruisers, especially logi cruisers, they are far more useful in fleets than before. In fact, a Scythe is only 25% less effective than it's Tech2 variant. Why Oracle? Simple, we're flying oracles a lot more than Drakes down here, and Oracles are also better to rat in.

There'll be a new deployment being announced soon, so stay tuned!

Just a short update this week.

Activity is increasing nicely in the Academy. Our Killerchief has been running several fleets a day, and the rest of the staff have been running classes. Our killboard - http://enla.eve-kill.net/ - is filling up with kills and it's nice

We've got another deployment soon; not ready to announce it yet...

We have just announced two new directors to the Academy: Killerchief and Sophita Quinne.

Killer is a long serving ENL-I member who has thrown himself at the Academy and taking fleets out several times a day. He has made a massive difference to the newbies, patiently running them through fleet stuff and getting them some good fights.

Sophita helps out in many ways, teaching the newbies about nullsec, helping process apps, answering Q's in corp chat...

This promotion is a recognition of the hard work they're both putting into the Academy, and they'll join the other directors in helping make this an even better starting place for those looking to get into PvP.

So, I am a total eve newbie and just resubbed as of 10 minutes ago, too much r/eve has finally convinced me to learn for real this time. People have tried before so I have a few skill points and a drake to my name but no real idea of what I'm doing. Can you guys fix that? And if so, where do I sign up?!?
