IDK what you mean by insta-undock? Undocking takes a while, varying with your computer setup, bandwidth, and what needs to be loaded as you come to see the grid of your station/outpost.

If you’re querying the instawarp bookmarks that various ppl have mentioned …
- When you undock from a station your ship naturally heads off into space, away from the station, in a particular direction. That direction is based on the line of the station undock plus or minus a certain amount (randomly generated) of degrees.
- If you do nothing you will continue in this line until next downtime, and you will lose your undock invulnerability approximately 30 seconds after undocking.
- If, while you are undocking, you hit ctrl-space, but nothing else, your ship will stop moving and remain invulnerable until that 30s is up.
- If you want to warp to a location while you are undocking, you need to both align to the object (takes time depending on your ship’s manoeuverability and the change in direction you need to make) and to reach 75% of your maximal speed (again takes time).
- If you have a bookmark, already inline with the station undock direction (within 5 degrees I think), and at a distance that can be warped to then you can warp to it virtually instantly because you do not have to change direction, and you will already be at 100% of your max speed. That bookmark is an ‘instawarp’.

The easiest way to make such a bookmark is simply to undock from that station and let your ship power out to a warpable distance. This is not always easy to do in hostile camped stations, and even if not camped that line may be at one of the extremes of the range … and may take a small time to align to if you later undock at another extreme angle.

In most stations it is easy enough to work out the line of the undock path, just by knowing the station types and (if unsure) watching others undock. Some stations are very easy for this because their undock direction is vertically down. So, using your mainscreen graphics, you can manoeuvre your ship to a suitable instawarp location without actually docking and undocking … and get yourself a better instawarp bookmark as a result.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.
