It seems surprising that the average player I meet has around 10 mill - 20 mill sp. What is the time it takes to get 10 mill sp constantly training? Bearing in mind, I'd like to fly t2 combat ships proficiently and not doing pure mining, research skills. I'm also using beta implants if they matters.

Training speed varies based on attribute mapping, implants, and skill choices, but it's about six months for 10 mil.

I consider 2000 SP per hour to be my lowest acceptable level. That's 1.44m per month,

The lowest possible is 1530 SP per hour. That's 1.1016m per month.
The highest possible is 2700 SP per hour. That's 1.944m per month.

10m = about 9 months. Probably less. Possibly more.

Like explained above

10 mil SP usually takes around 6 to 8 months to collect

*Or if you have deep wallet, instant by buying a character from the bazaar, but I highly recommend not doing that. A new player with 1mil SP or 100mil SP still is a new player. Better to learn and try things out with cheaper stuff then expensive ships*

So yes, attribute implants matter too. :)

The "Improved" version gives you the best SP/h. Just a 'tat' expensive if you PvP. Therefore most people involved in player to player combat use +3 (basic) implants.

I find it useful to have my clones with different sets equipped, and if it gets too hot I can always jump into one with no implants. :)

To give you an idea how fast it CAN go, creation date for me is march 6th and I have 9.5 mil SP. This is with +5 implants and fully focussing on int/mem skills (I have massive support skills but couldn't fight my way out of a wet paper bag as I lack ship/gunnery skills).

Don't worry too much about the amount of SP you have, just make sure you choose to do something that you like doing and focus the right skills on that.
