Is CCP in the first grade?

When someone says "xxxx was the stupidest thing CCP has ever done..." I think a lot of people think of Incarna. However, I don't think it was stupid at all. Incarna was and hopefully will be brilliant. They just messed up the method of deployment and the content was non-existent. Others might think of this or that ship change or addition as being the dumbest thing CCP has ever done... and of course there will be others who will take issue with that and defend the change. Nothing is ever simple in EvE, is it? The thing is, those changes aren't "stupid"... they are always very clever conceptually... it's just sometimes things don't work out like you think they will.

With that as an opener for context, I present to you truly stupidest thing I've ever seen CCP do... From the patch notes:
  • When viewing the info of a skill, the attribute "Level" now has a capital L.

Is this what we do now CCP? We puff up the patch notes by adding an entire bullet point for a change in capitalization somewhere? It reminds me of the tactics first graders use when trying to fill a whole page with writing for a school assignment. It is the dumbest thing I've ever seen you do CCP. Why don't you put what you had for lunch in the patch notes? How about all the company and group meetings you attended? Those could take up space... you know what else the patch notes need? Pictures of CCP staff pets.

...and hats.

I write documentation for a living, and I approve of using a capital "L" in "Level". It's all about the details, bro.

Actually, the stupidest thing CCP did was Tyrannis.

Removing such a vast isk sink without countering it caused massive inflation driving things such as PLEX, which drives the economy, way up.

These quality of life changes, such as adding skill unlocks aren't necessarily bad. Capitalizing the L in level makes sense and should be considered as an improvement. This adds UI elements that if were in the initial release of EVE you wouldn't have thought twice about it. NEEDING to use 3rd party apps to play a video game is a bad thing. 3rd party applications should be optional, not a necessity. Trying to counter the EVE learning cliff isn't bad for EVE's long term survivability.

However, changes like Alchemy which impose a CCP regulated price on tech 2 reactions removes elements of the sandbox instead of actually tackling the root of the problem which is the manufacturing process. Not the minerals/reactions themselves.

Correct punctuation and grammar is that which separates us from those heading down the genetic toilet. A tip of the hat to CCP for recognising this.

Proper capitalization makes the game way too newbie-friendly, is ruining both PvP AND PvE, completely destroys the sandbox and my immersion, and is the single factor that will kill EVE unless CCP starts to listen.

If this is the extent of your problems with the patch notes. I guess it was a pretty good release.

Is 'stupidist' even a word? Its not in my dictionary. I'd have to say its one of the stupidist words I've heard in a while.
see what I did there? I took a tiny issue with what you said and made a whole post about it.

Given CCP's history of joke-making and outright trolling in the patch notes, I suspect that at some point someone made a thread or submitted a bug report regarding the lack of consistent capitalization. So someone at CCP took a few seconds and fixed that just so they could put it in the patch notes to poke at whoever complained about it.
