There is one major problem with the story and it’s a rather large plot hole or just doesn’t make sense to me. The Enheduanni/Sleeper are massively more advanced than the Jove. So why are the sleepers so primitive and easy to beat? If the Enheduanni are so advanced why are the buildings so rundown and primitive?

Hasty judgement, history shows highly developed civilisations falling to barbarian hordes so often that very phase is derive from the very language semantics of text book example. The Huns, The Vandals, the Mongol conquest of China, The Golden Horde, even the Viking's sacking Anglo-Saxon Britain.

That seems a bit farfetched to me. A super advanced race well beyond the Jove with 1000's of solo systems in the empire all melted down and lost technology in a matter of years? What about all the self sufficient star base's manned by drones, why did they all of a sudden become primitive?

That sort of suggest in a way The Talocan might have been early Enheduanni migrating away from known space towards W-space then one settled down the Talocan become the Sleepers which explains the Sleeper tech inside Talocan ships. The only problem is the technology is far too primitive.

Lovely to see you again Pottsey the Pottsey Super Thread was a good place to share fiction ideas. Kudos to you and Asbalon Jade.

One thing that dawned on me a while ago was in relation to the old community thread on jump drives.

You'll notice that the portal for the old area has been re-done http://community.eveonline.com/

But the old Inter-stellar travel pages have not needed retcon:

Quote:
The later versions allow ships to jump from a system with a jump gate to another system that has no jump gate, and the latest version, still only available as a prototype, allows a ship to jump between systems even if no jump gate exists in either system. The first versions of these drives simply aligned the drive with the nearest resonance node in the system (often using nodes 1:4 or even 1:5), then created instant mini-wormholes through it for just enough time for the ship to slip through. More advanced versions, allowing jumps into systems with no jump gates, are a bit more complex. They send out a constant barrage of high frequency neutron rays, based on the flat-space principle of trans-relativistic physics, through infinitesimal cosmic strings to scout out the destination system. This survey can last for several days before enough data is gathered to allow the ship to create a wormhole (through a resonance node of course) to the destination system.

With the Sleeper's only having in-built Jump Drives, the mass of the Polestar would have had enough mass to hyper-locate or form wormholes to Empire. The reason the unstable wormholes are still present leading from K-Space to W-Space would be feasible, by making a Corridor; (all fiction ofc) Using the Period Basis region as a long range target and charging the Polestar for 3 months its jump drive was able to lock onto Empire Space and target the nearest Gravity Well, the return trip back to the detached Polestar, ran parallel leaving a residual wormhole / string with the ability to remain open for millenia.

Got me thinking about the 1,000 old plate on Matar in the chron Present Pieces though........... Ginnungap is close by.

The Damaged Cloaking Device is found on a Drone in the Minmatar COSMOS System of Hjoramold. Why the Rogue Ddrones would have started using cloaking technology is not yet fully explained, but I'd guess it has something to do with Dagan, if the chronicle Depth of Field and its drone, which couldn't be visually confused with the Vampire, are anything to go by, plus Dagan's presence in the Blood-Stained Stars Sisters Epic Arc.

One of the things about the Chinese and Yan Jung Middle Kingdom can be found with these: The Three Enclosures; Purple Forbidden Enclosure, Supreme Palace Encosure and Heavenly Market Enclosure. The Yan Jung going a different way would definitely tie with, as the above relate to positions in the sky under the Chinese San Yuan / constellation system.

More specifically the Pole:
Quote:
The Three Enclosures are the Purple Forbidden Enclosure (紫微垣, Zǐ Wēi Yuán), the Supreme Palace Enclosure (太微垣, Tài Wēi Yuán) and the Heavenly Market Enclosure (天市垣, Tiān Shì Yuán). The Purple Forbidden Enclosure occupies the northernmost area of the night sky. From the viewpoint of the ancient Chinese, the Purple Forbidden Enclosure lies in the middle of the sky and is circled by all the other stars.

The Supreme Palace Enclosure lies east and north to the Purple Forbidden Enclosure, while the Heavenly Market Enclosure lies west and south. The Three Enclosures are separated by "walls", which are asterisms with their shapes resembling their namesakes.

Meaning that having a hotspot to aim at like Sirius on Earth would entail these three regions were options.

If Gallante can have drones maintained a star base without humans why can the much more advanced Enheduanni not do the same?

For a race that lives in time dilation and can invent, create and research new technology at incredible speed far beyond the Jove I have to wonder why the Sleepers are so low tech? Where is all this advanced technology? Why are the sleeper drones not useing the Enheduanni technology? Why would Enheduanni use Enheduanni technology in empire space but not use the same Enheduanni technology in w-space?

I am sure that this was perhaps explained indirectly in the book. I will have to read through that part again, to see if there are any assumptions imparted through the story.

Also, there is also the possibili[u]ty of other books down the road where more detail will be given, as they left a few open ends in the latest book, 'Templar One'
