Roger that, just did another update.

Seen a lot of loyal investors upping their shares, and a lot of new faces joining the party as well. Smile

Quick update:

Some of our enemies have been spreading rumors that I was banned from EVE.

I am pleased to say that these rumors are entirely false, and that I remain as powerful as ever! So rest easy and enjoy some laughs at our enemies' expense. Cool

I love how people continue to say that what you do is against the EULA. If it was, you obviously would have been stopped in Halaima. The ignorance of the community continues to astound me, daily. And provide great humor.

Question: Do investors get a free ice mining pass?

This question hasn't come up very often, but when it has, shares and mining permits are treated separately. However, I'll say this: If I see one of my investors mining and they haven't paid the fee, they're probably the last person I'm going to bump. Professional courtesy and all. Smile

We're tantalizingly close to the 6,000 share mark...Will YOU be the one to put us over? Cool

While I wouldn't disagree with investors getting a free pass, especially larger investors, It would almost seem hypocritical to expect one just because we invested in this business. Would you invest in a car company, and expect them to give you a free car?

Us investors are part owners, you wouldn't bump your own employee's or more to the point your boss :)

Cross-posted from MinerBumping.com:

OVER SIX BILLION IN SHARES SOLD

As the New Order of Highsec continues to expand with every passing day, I'd like to report an exciting milestone we just reached: Our six thousandth share was sold today. Special congratulations to shareholder R0me0 Charl1e, who purchased share #6,000.

It seems like it was just yesterday that we launched the first round of our IPO, offering a hundred shares. At the time, I didn't know whether anyone was interested in investing in a miner-bumping business. All I knew was that I had a bumping ship and a dream. As it turns out, other people believed in that dream. A whole lot of people. Today, some 66 different investors have purchased shares in the New Order of Highsec, and we're only getting started.

As the flow of share orders has become manageable, I have decided to keep the sale offering open for the moment. Sixty-six of you have put in isk--some a little, some a lot--because you share my vision of a better future for highsec, and because you believe we can improve the highsec miners, even if they don't always want to be improved.

Thanks again for your support, and here's to the next 6 billion!

I'd like to reserve 5 shares, payment will be given in a few hours.

When Bon Scott died and he appeared before St. Peter at the gates of Heaven, St. Peter looked at his record and told him he couldn't get in. Just then, God screams at Peter, "Let him in, Karen Carpenter is driving me nuts. I want to hear some music with balls. We'll haggle over the paperwork later." At least I hope that's what happened.

James, is there a master list of all of the miners who have rightfully paid the mining fee? Also, is there any type of agreement/fee that could be arranged for bumpers who put their time and effort into helping enforce the code? I'm not planning on bumping, myself, but the question was brought up during a discussion with some friends of mine when we were speaking about your heroic exploits. They wanted to help bump because they believe it is an honorable and noble thing that you're doing and it would be a nice periodic distraction from their main activities when online. However, they wouldn't be able to absorb the complete loss of income from mission running or whatever else it is that they do normally for money, so they'd need some sort of way to make money while doing this. Is there a percentage cut they could take from every fee they secure for the order or some base hourly wage you'd be willing to pay them to enforce your code?

It would certainly take some of the stress off of your shoulders and assist the steady expansion of your empire to eventually encompass every high sec ice mining field in the universe.

If you don't have something like that in place, it could be beneficial to thinking about implementing one in the future. It could potentially bring dozens of new supporters seeking to assist you in enforcing the rule of law in every system the New Order controls.

Good questions. I'm getting questions like these more frequently now, so I'm going to need to do a proper write-up on it and put it on the blog.

I'll start with the question about a list of the miners who have paid--what we might call the Blue Pen list. The list exists as the set of characters that I have set to positive (+5) standings. I haven't made it public in the past partly because there have been threats of retaliation against them, but more because I'm afraid making it public might make people less willing to pay.

When it comes to people helping me bump, the danger that they'll bump people who have already paid is fairly small, especially as our territory expands, because they're only a fraction--some 40-odd miners. I've told bumpers that if someone claims to have already paid, to tell that miner to send me an EVEmail and I'll sort it out. So far we haven't had any issues. In the future, if we have a lot of bumpers and a lot of people complaining, I could make a public Blue Pen list on the website, but I haven't seen the need yet.

As far as payment for people who help bump, my policy has been that they can keep 100% of the mining fees that they extract. Of course, I have no way of controlling what other bumpers do, so I couldn't enforce any other policy. Smile I think if someone is successful in bumping people and getting payments, they're entitled to keep the payments and I support them 100%. I don't see it as a loss to me at all, because if I'm not there, those people aren't getting bumped and aren't paying me anyway. Also, by creating an atmosphere of bumping and Code-obeying, it makes other people more likely to pay in the future.

If such bumpers really want to help support the New Order, they can send me stories/chatlogs/screenshots of their bumping exploits so I can share with others. Smile

Whew! I'm halfway to writing an essay on this now. Oops
