I am on my way to mission in Amarr space doing lvl 4's my question is, if I want T-2 lasers it's gonna take 63+days to just get T-2, Oops , geesus! plan "B" faction fit, would a faction fitted ie laser turrets and crystals on a BS (Armageddon) be just as good as a T-2 fitted geddon or atleast on par? thanks. I do have excellent drone skills to add into the mixBig smile

I think the reason why people aren't responding is because if you don't want to take the time to use the all powerful google search engine to research fits and learn things as many others have...... whats the point?

Short Answer - EFT

Longer Answer - 63 days!?

Longer Answer - T2 is Better than Faction.

Thanks Nagamore that's all I needed to know, btw, yes I have looked into fits on Google but the one's I find are T-2 fits, and you know that website with all the silly fits like 8 low slots on an Ibis...not getting a concise answer.

If you plan on using beams you'll be just fine with faction, if you plan on using Mega Pulse you will really want tech 2 because of the awesomeness that is Scorch ammo. Generally I stick to beams though. Or used to anway, before I switched to autocannons...

You'll get more 'oomph' out of T2. It's WORTH it. Trust me.

Faction-fitting/deadspace-fits will get you some nice kick, but at a very high price. I've done it before, but only until I could T2 fit.

63-days? That's not bad at all. 2 months to kick ass in a laser boat. I've done T2 Lasers (including Specs to 5), T2 Projectiles (specs to 5) and working on T2 hybrids as we speak. I do not regret the time invested in them at all.

In order for a reader to actually reply, that person has to:

  • Bother with reading the entire post, which gets harder when the punctuation and spelling are not very good.
  • Have something to say on the subject.
  • Bother with typing out an answer.

For most threads, this filters out something like 95%-99% of readers, in my experience. Welcome to forums.

great to know, beams is where I might stay...the reason I am not wanting just yet to commit 63 days yet is because I have other skills I must train because I've reached the tip point if being able to pay for my game with plex and have a tidy sum left over for some nice mods, I want my toon to be a broad based player rather then specialize so when I am bit tired of combat I can earn isk'ies in other pursuits which is how it is now but I want to take it a bit furtherBig smile

Amarr lasers going from T1 to T2 is a dramatic step. As stated above, well worth the time put in for it.

The extra skill bonuses to damage for doing so isn't anything to scoff at either. ;)

Faction guns are a great investment while you train into T2. They unlock earlier and generally give you some comparable damage until you factor in Skill damage bonus and T2 crystals.

And then they hold their value fairly well and reselling those for the cheaper T2 guns makes for a win-win progression into more damage.

Me, I mission with T2 beams. I love it. YMMV.

T2 guns isn't where gunnery ends. You can get somewhere near 10 million SP in gunnery and still not have T2 large guns.
The gunnery 'support' skills are just as important as the gun itself.

Pulse guns with Scorch ammo is a great platform for Amarr.
You might consider them as well.

Buy "Modulated" laser weapons until you get the skills for T2 lazors. They are Meta 4 items.

Faction weapons are stupid expensive for what they give you...stay clear. Load faction crystals with your M4 weapons.

Didn't think of that...that sounds like an excellent ideal, thanks. I get Meta 4's often in missions

At this point, the only reason fro faction over meta 4 is really tight fits, or if you are OCD about color coordination.
