Alternative to the tengu for nullsec Serpentis Hub Grinding?

Hello friends,

Up until this point, I have been happily ratting with a supermax tengu pilot being supplemented with fighters, and it would usually net me about 35m/tick. Its not awesome, but it was good enough to keep my wallet nice and healthy. Unfortunately, I came to the realization that I really didn't want to dual box rat anymore, nor did I want to jump my carrier around to rat anymore, nor did I want to have another account just for ratting when I have a perfectly good combat master main character.

So I did a quick test, just solo running the tengu, 22m/tick (average over an hour and a half, doing only forsaken hubs back to back), not bad, those fighters sure do add a bit of dps, or maybe I'm just bad, either way, I have a goal now. My main doesn't fly missile boats nearly as well, but does have near max gun/drone boat skills for frigate to BS and the t2 and t3 varients (with bs 5 for minni/gal/amarr). So my question is whats a good alternative?

I've read that machariels do fairly well, and I can fit one out to be roughly the same value as the tengu I have now, but would it be as efficient? I also hear the vindicator does just fine, as long as you can blap the ships before they leave blaster range. A Vargur or Kronos perhaps? Or am I aiming too big?

The goal here is speed, I figure the faster I can kill everything, the faster I can move on, more hubs means more money every tick, I've just been using the tengu for so long, I really don't know what compares, and thus, here I am.

Any and all help is appreciated!

Vindi does very well, assuming in serpentis hubs you dont get lower then BC's and they generally spawn together.

Blaster Naga is what I use for Guristas Hub's, I get 30M ticks before tax.

Blaster Talos can work too, but needs to be shield tanked, you need to have a prop mod on it too, however this does gimp your tank.

Most Serpentis ships are blaster boats (though there are some rail fit BS that do fair damage). Thus, anything with extreme range is a good choice. Arty Vargur or CNR are excellent choices. They will not be exceptionally fast at clearing the sites, but they will be efficient and safe (vs. the rats).

I don't recommend the tier 3 BC's simply because they are made of paper. In fleets, they are exceptional. In small gang or 1v1, they can be very good assuming you get to pick initial engagement range. Beyond that, they are not all that exciting - in my experience anyway.
