Tactical Sensor Link module

Warfare-link module that fits on command ships only. Requires a fleet member on grid. Puts the ship into a siege-mode (10 minutes) that requires fuel. Cloaks the ship with a 10km decloak radius. Grants an extended targeting range and target count. Extends 'look at' range to the same distance.

New 'Tactical Sensor Reconfiguration' skill reduce siege time, fuel, and decloak radius.

Perhaps a T2 version that shrinks the decloak radius to 'bump' range, and has an unlimited targeting range (ie entire grid).

Fleet vs Field command ships might have differing modifiers for these attributes.

This allows a FC to control large battles as if they were a strategic commander behind the lines, such as if the sensor data from all the ships were being relayed back to them in real-time. They can use the tactical overlay with the 'look at' range to change their POV in the battle to any ship.

An alternative to the cloak is to allow the module to be used off-grid and be able to switch one's POV to a fleet member, and it'd probably blow up your sig radius to make probing-down easier. However, I can imagine that being able to see an alternate grid is a harder development task so 'same grid' with a cloak feels easier to implement.

First off, you can't activate modules while cloaked.

Second, you can't target while cloaked.

Third, I don't know of any FC ever who would fly with this compared to flying an actual contributing ship in the fleet. If a FC is worried about dieing in a fight, they can just trade their normal fleet fit for an uber-tank fit instead and still contribute more than this proposed thing would.

This is a new module CCP would have to implement, so they can change the rules however they like. I don't think there is a core technology issue that prevents cloaked ships from targeting; its just a limitation CCP has put on existing cloaking devices. This module would have an exception to the no-target-while-cloak rule. All other existing module/cloak limitations would apply; so no shooting / ECM / repping while cloaked.

Large fleet battles tend to alpha whoever gets targeted, so this would allow someone to FC the fight without getting instapopped. This module only makes sense for long/large fleet battles, otherwise yes the extra contributing ship is better.
