How do you set up your skills among multiple accounts?

I have heard several references to playing multiple alts to mine simultaneously. Can anybody provide some basic setups for mining multiple (two or three) accounts simultaneously?

I see the basics as a Hulk or other high-yield mining ship, plus a second account to take the stuff to station and refine/sell. Does a third account with an Orca make sense, or is it overkill?

It used to be have either A: one miner and a hauler char, or have both mining and one swap out to a hauler as needed.

With only 2 chars though, the upcoming changes make it easier to just have 2 chars mining side by site, returning to base to drop off ore when the ridiculously large cargo bays are filled (27.5k for retriever, 35k for mackinaw)

I don't know the stats on how much an orca boosts, but I suspect it's not enough to bother adding a third account just to support 2 miners unless you want the other 2 in hulks instead of macks.

Well, I use:

* Orca or Rorqual booster
* 2 Hulks
* Bustard hauler (toughest DST, but a second Orca for hauling in hisec is easier)
* Tengu siege warfare booster

With three you may want three Mackinaws, with one of them an implanted mining booster. A viable option with the "new" ships.

The mining booster alt is my shadow; he follows me nearly everywhere, and does stuff to make my life easier. Examples: Rattlesnake pilot for extra DPS in missions, code breaking, archeology, etc.

The second Hulk pilot is also a Tengu, Basilisk, and Onyx pilot. Also a Covert cyno alt.

The Bustard pilot is my primary trade, research & industry alt. He's also a Tengu, Basilisk, Falcon, and Scorpion pilot. He's my POS janitor.

The siege booster is primarily a non-mining booster with FC4 (both Amarr and Caldari T3 & command ships), but is also an Orca (hauling), Basilisk, Guardian, and Noctis pilot for mission salvaging.

All are Transport & freighter pilots (I own 4 Charon). Nearly all are JF pilots (I own 1 Rhea). They also do basic research & manufacturing, PI, and starbase defense.

More than 6 clients tends to cause my system to crash Cry I currently have 7 accounts.

well i used 2 accounts for mining

1 was a maxxed out hulk pilot and the other was a gang boosting orca

dumped directly into the orca and when full i dropped off

it helps if u have a 2nd screen playing a movie cuz ur gonna get bored eally fast

I used to mine with Hulk + Orca combo.

But looks like I have to sell my Orca now. A bit sad moment for me because it was also very good for hauling medium sized loads (90k m3) quite fast.

This, sort of.

I have the 2 hulks + orca for mining, but the trading alt is another toon on one of the accounts. That way you can leave the trading alt to monitor the market somewhere and you can shop without having to have one of your mining crew travel.

Also, if you're into missioning, have one miner train as primary missioner (marauder/machariel/tengu), the orca as backup missioner (tanks for and reps the primary) and have the second miner train as mission booster/salvager. That way if you do someday buy mindlinks, you'll be able to have both a mining and an armor/siege/skirmish mindlink without having to clonejump. Yes there are people that will say that such an approach is massive overkill, but I don't want to lose too many marauders/machariels/tengus.
