Cargo Ship

So first of all I'm not trying to replace specialized ships like jump freighters and capitol industrial ships like the Orca. I think that there should be a ship that is capable of carring large payloads, say 150,000m3 that are not specialized industrials. Designed to be faster and more agile then these.

A design that is mostly engine and cargo space. Limited armorment and light defensive capabuilities in order to make the ship lighter and more manuberable. Also warp stabalization above the norm. Made to run from and avoid damage not sit and soak damage while it trudges along. Just one slot of low medium and high power slots and a couple of rigs slots for some customization. Each race having it's own version. Amarr with a turret slot and a bonus to armor tanking, Caldari with a missle slot and sheild tanking bonus, Minmatar with a turret slot and speed bonus, and the Gallante with a small drone bay and a armor bonus.

A bonus to inertia modifier for each level of skill with this ship class. Making more skilled pilots able to align and jump much faster. A speed of around 190mps and a warp speed of about 5 au/s. Unusually fast. I don't know enough about the overall ship design process of CCP to suggest what would be resonable for defensive capabuilites and cost to ballance the ships into the system.

Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.

I started to read this and thought another light freighter, then I started to glance at the stats and noticing many of them were a bit ridiculous. I began to decide how to put that into words gently as not to sound rude or insulting. But the silly envisioned stats kept coming... and coming.

Somewhere between 150k hold, natural warp core stabs, tank bonus and 5AU/s I suddenly just broke into a bout of laughter.

And I want a combat ship that doesn't extinct other combat ships except I want it faster, doing more damage and outtank them with a good margin and I can get away even while bubbled...

Oh... CCP already introduced T3 ships... my troll just failed /o\

Are you serious?

I don't even know where to begin, lets just say the idea of a light industrial gets kicked around on a monthly basis it seems because people don't want to buy a jump freighter or orca. And your idea of this is overpowered to say the least.

Welcome to Eve. Everyone here is an Evil Sick Sadistic Bastard who is out to get you. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either trying to scam you or use you.

It's not a bad idea to have one though. I think a lot of people would love to have a 100-150k Cargo ship inbetween the indy's and the freighters, just to be able to move around their own equipment. Something in the 100-200m category rather then the 1b category.

Nod, as you can tell by 2 threads on it within a few hours of each other :P
I'd make it like an advanced racial industrial line.
* You can fly the ship at level 1, with increased cargo hold with each level.
* Like a T2 version of the industrials, so not a freighter type EHP.
* They could replace orca haulers for mining ops, so the orca can stay and boost.

That way you have to decide if you want the extra tank of the freighter, or the ability to snag jetcans, and a lower cost.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.
