for along time low sec pirates cried out we have no targets, well the other poster is right. I stopped going to low sec for 1 reason ...gate camps, MONOLITHIC size blobs that a solo pilot has no chance to move on and do low sec activities sure I could do all the recommended things to get away but you know ...its more trouble than its worth just to get my foot in the door, if however I knew I could make it in unmolested the I would make trips to low sec and maybe get used to the place and prefer living there or atleast having activities going on, and another thing low sec'ies could do to help yourself get more PVP is stop being so freaking trigger happy, if theres a lone pod or rookie ship with a noob let it go, its what the world calls overfishing if you take it all you end up not having nothing for your plate. Thanks, and have a nice day.

Or join a corp that is active in Low Sec with intel and stuff. Then get a little less attached to your ship, they are replaceable.

You need to count the imaginary ones.

I can see your sentiment but I'm not really sympithetic to your situation. I routinely drop into lowsec in the most heavily camped areas near faction warfare hubs and rarely get caught in a camp.

Learning to use your map and some nice meta-game sites like dotlan go a long way to identify hotspots. For every one heavily camped system there are 2-3 ignored entrances to lowsec within 5 jumps because they are farther away from major hubs. Using the backdoor to lowsec is something that you to can use. Hell I've even snuck orca's in on multiple restocking trips within a couple hours 1 jump out from a major pirate hub.

Using your head is much more important than letting the game save you from your ignorance. Everyone gets popped in lowsec, so fly only what you have 5 extra of.

Enjoy your time in lowsec.

MMOs come and go, but Eve remains.  -Garresh-

but to be honest, I think if you want the camps keep them atm I have no use for low sec and nether do most carebears Bear besides some of the best fun to be had is R vs B so that maybe a reason low sec gets no love.Twisted

In my corner of losec there is often...

...

...

No-one. Even on the hisec/lowsec border systems' losec-side gates.

Aside from the odd neut. passing through in a shuttle or pod, it'd usually dead-quiet across all TZs (I have really weird sleeping-pattern).

Star Wars: the Old Republic may not be EVE. But I'll take the sound of dual blaster-pistols over "NURVV CLAOKING NAOW!!!11oneone!!" any day of the week.

I understand the OP's perspective, personally (mainly carebear here) I go into low sec mainly on roams and don't see a lot of camps, there are certain areas where I have some PI where I have been jumped but then I fit a load of stabs etc and have often got away.

I take on board that yes use dotlan etc and you can see if there is a lot of action in certain systems. I also understand that for pirates the main way to catch their prey is on gates.

I think the clear issue is how to get people not only into losec but to stay. FW achieves that by the nature of the dynamic....I can only thing of some advantage for ships and/or structures to bring a carebear population in (well the more daring ones).

When on my own I literally warp in warp to my planet grab my PI and GTFO asap.

I don't know the answer to this because as a carebear the last place you go to is losec...I mean, on a roam the best way to get some fights is to send someone to rat in the belt and wait to be jumped.

Personally I don't give a flying F U C K as it makes no difference to me. However I know a lot of people love low sec and want more action (ignoring FW here btw) and the more they love the more they stay. Saying that I have to agree with the OP if you pod kill every bloody noob exploring the great expanse of EvE you're simply screwing over your own gameplay in the future as they'll either try join a nul sec alliance, stay in high sec or leave Eve.

I do enjoy losec and have lots and killed ships and get a buzz from that but I also see the other side of the argument, wh would I risk getting my ship blown up on my first jump in....not everyone has an alt to scout btw.....where's the risk vs reward in that situation. Seems there is less risk in nul sec than low but far higher rewards!

The really nasty camps are usually in the low-sec <==> null-sec choke points, at the null-sec side.

But I want your civilian miners, how am I supposed to mine in lowsec without those?
