I wish that was true! Eve changes that fast it seems you need to give it a lot of attention.

Seemed to be the opposite for me... Oh nothing is happening? Another gate camp? No WH activity... Eh i'd rather play something a tad more interactive... Lemme know when we have a bonafied group event. ...

Check back in... Still nothing? Then again I'm a man of variety with little real time to wait for things to happen. Most MMO's are not conducive as you get older. Or perhaps say going out boating v. jump 20 - 40 gates in eve seems like a no brainier.

Also might help to know what sort of games you enjoy aside from EVE. (RTS, TBS, FPS, RPG's etc etc) I found the "eve only" people actually seemingly hate all other video games... or due to some sense of gaming sanctimony let them selves believe that they will hate everything else.

Recent game that is super fun... Orcs must die 2. Literally haven't been laughing manically in ages. Sure other games are enjoyable this is shear silly fun.

Man that got kinda wordy.

I know exactly what you mean about logging in and nothing happening, stuff like that. That is what has always happened to me and I can't stand waiting for stuff like that. And that is why on my main I have been a solo pilot almost my whole career.

DO not under any circumstances buy the DLC Dawnguard, it is buggy and full of glitches and the few features that were added , well mods do a better job

I've been giving DayZ a go lately an it's been fun. Incredibly fustrating and buggy, yet strangely compelling. I know I'm going to get pissed off, yet I can't stop playing it.

It's a zombie survival game where you need to find food water an weapons. The map is huge to say the least. Weapons can be hard to find sometimes, so can food and water. I once found a M249 SAW with a lot of ammo. Couldn't believe my luck, but ended up dying due to lack of water. Damn.

Hey guys. After playing EVE for just over 6 years I am thinking about calling it a day.

I am trying to find a new game to play in my spare time, either single player or another MMO. I have looked at X3 Terran Conflict and Anno 2070. Any of you guys and gals play these games? If so are they worth getting into?

Any other game recommendation is welcome :D

Cheers people 0/

Go play some DayZ... It will make you wish you were playing Eve.

Also, I didnt think I would ever find a game harder than Eve....

I keep hearing this, but I haven't noticed anything wrong with my game. If anything, it actually fixed a few, like getting rid of all those dead dragon corpses in my towns. Plus you get epic crossbows for nonstop vampire-slaying action...
Lol

Some friends and I have been on a real Dead Island kick for the last month. We've been essentially playing 4 versions of the campaign (we joined whoever is farthest behind) and I've gotten Sam B 40 levels of zombie hacking goodness. 2 of us just got up to the jungle and for some reason I feel like I am playing the original predator with all the raiding of villages and freaky zombies making scary noises in the trees.

p.s. when we get bored the red propane tanks start flying at each other.

aye , i think it has something to do with the language version you are using and or /mods you had installed , i think i wasted 2 hours just to find the problem , in the end i had to reinstall the game without the DLC, i will wait a few weeks before installing the DLS again hopefully bethesda fixed it by then

If you dont mind the dated graphics at this stage and want good story content with game play i recommend a game called Sacrifice. I recently remembered about it and couldn't find my cd so downloaded and installed it again. And i am really enjoying playing it again.

Second game i recommend has got to be the funniest and best third person shooter/base building game i have ever played and its called Giants: Citizen Kabuto. You can buy both these games on http://www.gog.com/ (good old games). They are totally worth the 6 dollars they cost.

If you want one of these crap half arsed games that the gaming industry has been churning out for the last 5-8 years, personally i wouldn't recommend anything as it isnt worth the few hours it takes to clear them and never look at them again.

World of tanks is pretty adictive, fun to play and it is an MMO (altough i must admit NPC will do better as teammates than most of the player base...)

On the other way, Mechwarrior Online is growing up as an awesome game already.

May I suggest Starcraft 2 also?

PS: Honor mention to Sacrifice, one of the best non linear campaings ever. I will maybe search in the old vault to look for it and play it again.

Instead of getting X3 Terran Conflict, you could get the newer X3: Albion Prelude or you could wait for X Rebirth which should be released this fall. There's also X Superbox for sale in steam which contains all X games.

I'm also testing other MMOs looking for a good fit -- I'm mainly focused on FPS and RPGs. I already have the RTS/TBS games I like.

EDIT: Combat Arms (retraction) -- It's broken and free is too much to pay for it.

Edit: Alliance of Valliant Arms (A.V.A) [/b] Having a good time with it.

On my to-do list is Arma 2 and Blacklight Retribution.

Rift -- I didn't care for, it felt like I was playing a single player game. No one speaks! I'm not sure what level I was 11 or 13? I don't remember any clan opportunities at that level... maybe I didn't progress far enough.

Tribes Ascend -- I will have to revisit it but when I tried it, it reminded me too much of Global Agenda and the maps were too big for my taste and few people were playing.

I might get swept up with Guild Wars 2, I dunno yet.

I'm trying to garner the patience for Mount & Blade Warband (I've heard nothing but praise for it) also...something else that might be worth looking into.

There is an upcoming MMO (closed Beta I think) that sounds very Eve-esque /duck but I can't remember the name of it. Read about it at mmohut.com, I think.

P.S. End of Nations looks spiffy -- I didn't have time to test it during last weekend's Beta but believe it's close to release. Oh, and as for Anno 2070 -- I played the first installments, yet read about so many complaints about the latest game I didn't buy it even at 50% off. Maybe it's improved now.

P.S.S. The Civilization franchise is great and decently active, if you're into that genre. Like some others here, I also play vintage and Indie. E.Y.E. Cybermancy is a blast but the ending (meh). Right now, I'm also having fun with L.A. Noire.

tbh if you are looking for a new as in "new" mmo, fps, rpg etc etc.

Give up, you will not find a single one that gives you even the slightest challenge regardless of difficulty, games these days are so dumbed down for 12yo emo retards that its beyond me how someone with an IQ above 50 can struggle with any new game.

I have not played a single good and fun game since well, not in a long time. Eve is the only game as of lately that actually provides some fun.

Minecraft is a piece of trash as there is so many kids on it, you can have server run, 40 slot for £30 a month and gurantee you it is full every night and everyone is between 8 and 12 years old. So its basically full of idiots and griefers.

WoT is fun for like, 3-4 tier's worth of grinding, once you get to tier 5 and 6 tanks the rest just becomes an XP farming game and its not as if its fun doing it. Oh and barely anyone speaks english on the Euro server, its ******* annoying going into a game and typing "good luck have fun" and everyone is speaking in a different language.

The last single player game I played from start to finish was Mafia II, due to the epic story and way the characters got a hold of your attention. I just couldnt put it off :D.

However I wouldnt play any single player games now tbh, may as well whip out the KY Jelly and finger bang my rear if I am going to play with myself.

While I've only played EVE for ~7days now, before it I played the crap out of the X series, and am currently playing X3: Albion Prelude during EVE's downtime.

I would highly recommend the game.

"Dark Messiah Might and Magic" - an excellent hack&slash first person rpg (you can chuck spells too). Oldie but goldie. Combat system exceeds even that of Skyrim Attention

"Dungeons of Dredmor" - a nice little dungeon crawler in retro style pixelated graphics. Lots of skills to build your character from. And if you desire, there is a permadeath option too Twisted

"Kung Fu Strike" - a button mashing, gamepad breaking, furniture wrecking, makes you swearing, beat 'em up game of martial arts Lol

These three are my favorites when there is nothing happening in eve.

Maybe give Guild Wars 2 a try, I've not tried it myself but it looks like a cool pvp game.
