I just discovered of the existence of Data Centers and Cosmos agents; I was trying to find a way to repair my terrible standing with Caldari and Amarr.

Also, I produce, so the BP rewards are pretty nice to me. However, doing the first "Data Center" mission for Caldari, I noticed my standing with Minmatar and Gallente decreased, as with all storylines.

So I'm confused ATM: is there a way to do all Cosmos missions, for all factions? More in general, is there a way to achieve high standing with all four factions?

Also, assuming I got to choose one or two factions, wich would be the more convenient speaking of rewards (more valuable BPs)?

You need a specific faction standing to access even the L1 COSMOS agents and the Data Centers.

Tag turn ins at the Data Centers can also be quite costly, especially the higher level ones requiring higher level tags. The Data Center standing gains are also surprisingly small.

COSMOS missions, on the other hand, give you insane standings gains, especially the L3 and L4 ones. The missions can be quite challenging and the constellations in general are hot beds of ganking and missions item theft.

As for the BP rewards, the faction items to be manufactured from them are usually terrible. The storyline faction items are generally the equivalent of a meta version of the item in question, often worse then the M4 variant. The only value of these items are the relatively low fitting requirements in comparison to T1 meta versions (though that's not always the case). COSMOS are, for the most part, way less profitable than regular missions other than the standings gains - which allows you to access higher level agents for corps you do not actively mission for.

At the very high standings levels 8.0+, you can access a trio of agents that allow you to turn in tags for multi-run BPC's of faction ships (1 frigate, 1 cruiser, 1 BS). For example, the Caldari ones offer Hookbill, Caracal and CNR BPC's. The tag requirements are really high and end up making it more worth it to purchase the BPC yourself (other than the BS one).

All in all, do them for fun and stanings. Ignore them if you are just looking to mission and earn isk.

Thanks for the very valuable information, think you just spared me a very big disappointment.

As for the standings, what would be a smart way to increase faction standing with - say - Caldari, without going down with Gallente and Minnies?

AFAIK, you gain faction standing doing storyline missions (the ones given every 16 or so normal ones). But then you loose it the other side.

Maintaining high standings (how high?) towards all four factions is difficult but can be done to some extent. I suggest you have a look at this thread and from it pick and choose what might apply to your current situation.
