Ship BPCs for inventors

For you T2 ship inventors out there, I have a few questions for you.

1. Does the ME/PE of the ship BPC matter to you if you intend to use it to invent?
2. Does the number of runs on the BPC matter to you?
3. Do you buy ship BPC to aid in your invention? Or do you strictly copy your own?
4. If you do buy ship BPCs, do you buy them individually, or prefer bulk packs? If bulk, how many would you normally buy at a time?

In the cat-and-mouse game that is low sec, there is no shame in learning to be a better mouse.

1: No. (only for creating the ship that'll be used as a component later)
2: Generally not. Most invent with 1 ship runs.
3: Copy, but I have plenty of slots.
4: N/A

Without decryptors and support, few t2 ships are profitable to make. Bombers, some assault frigs and interceptors, and the saber. If your plan for profit is to make bpc copies, you won't get far. Learn to invent mods and manufacture those. Otherwise, you may be better off with t1 production.

And I invent bombers using 1 run copies from bpos that i own.

Sadly T2 Ship production is truly the realm of the T2BPO owner unless we're talking about T2 ships with out BPO's or the select few T2 ships taht are commonly used and lost such as the Hulk. If black ops get a buff they could soon be profitable to make for inventors as they do not have a BPO

I disagree, a large proportion of T2 ships are profitable to invent/build yourself without using decryptors. This does not include 'minerals i mine' are free or 'datacores i farm' are free. I will admit that a large percentage have a profit % that is barely worth bothering with, but for some, even this lower % would be worth doing.

.......and no im not going to divulge how.

Sorry to go off topic to the OP.

The how is easy, you build all the components, use buy orders to procure items you can produce yourself, and work to supply all materials at the lowest cost. That said, for mist starting out, reaching that point takes time and resources to invest in all the needed bpos. In general though, it's not profitable if you have to purchase the raw materials.

No, the ME/PE will be the same after a successful invention, unless you use decryptors, so you can make bpc's with bpo's that have 0 / 0 ME/PE.

Max run for anything not a ship. Max run bpc's are used by some (and use a decryptor) but for charges/mods/drones/etc its best to have max run.

Personally I just make my own. Though if I were to start doing max run ship bpc's I might buy them (to use a decryptor with) though generally its only worth doing this for the more expensive ships.

Personally I would only buy them in bulk. Buying them one at a time would be a waste of time unless they were crazy cheap.
