Four account here, three active one inactive, total 9 characters.

Cons

Expensive if you dont use them, you can bankrupt if alts cant earn money...
All cost you more than in single account.
Alts are bad for people who cant multitasking, except alts who are designed for pasive incomes or trade.
You dont know who is your main after using alts few years...

Pros.

2500 dps on missions, a lot ew on pvp.
Scouts.
Price checkers in difirend regions, hubs.
Alts Hauling fleet.
Epic feeling while gate camp wrote to me GF guys on local.
Good for kamikaze , One alt in frigate scaning industrals, sencond alt siting in industral and is ready to pick loot form victim after last alt use alpha strike form tornado ;)

I have two accounts. The second one started out just as a hauler for mining, now it does everything from freight hauling, orca duties, to combat support in missions (drone boat or logi). Even without deals like the Power of 2 it's a game that is very alt friendly as it's easy to multi-task. It's not just the PvE side, I know plenty of players who PvP utilizing two or more accounts at a time. Recently in FW I saw a small gang, realized later from militia chat the five man gang was one person :P

The whole "dangerous universe" concept and even CCP's own stated preference of scamming and PvP over other pursuits is a draw for alts cause atleast your alt is someone you don't have to worry about trying to kill/scam you. I think having two or three accounts isn't a big deal, when it gets to five to ten and up, then it's going a bit far and you start wondering much of the game is actually alts. As I write this there are around fifteen thousand poeple online, it's not inconceivable that more than half of those are alts.

I do exploration a lot so gotta have at least two. Prober + Fighter

And it's also damn nice to be able to send your PVP character off to that CTA instead of going there with main just to sit around for 5 hours waiting for something to start. While you do other **** with main.

Still have left 2 active accounts for different purposes and once I reach my goal with 1 toon will transfer to main account and keep a single one.

1 Account, almost two but decided second account would make the game seem like a chore. After all I have 2 other alts to use on this account as cheap throw aways or for whatever I want to use them for.
