I think your being overly critical. From a creative stand point if your only tweaking whats there and your still unhappy start over from scratch instead of experimenting with whats there already.

My alt was designed by me. Lyric here was actually designed by my Wife, who when I finally took the time to recreate this avatar from the revamp of the old system I called her over and had her call the shots. Getting input from another individual even one person who knows nothing about eve can help you make some good choices.

I couldn't see my avatar any other way, I may alter his clothes from time to time, but I tried to change his eye color to my RL eye color and It just didn't work so I set it back to its original.

You'll arrive at the right design decision when after you have left it alone for a few days if you try to alter it you feel like you need to go back to how it initially was.

I notice you have the same black on white uniform in every picture shake up there wardrobe as it will have a visual impact on other decisions you have made about your avatar.

Make some changes come to a stopping point play eve or do something else then come back to it after a couple of days.

Noir. and Noir Academy are recruiting apply at www.noirmercs.com I Noir Academy: 60 days old must be able to fly at least one tech II frigate. I Noir. Recruits: 4:1 k/d ratio and can fly tech II cruisers.

It takes awhile, just keep fiddling around with it - find a pose you like, stick with it for a day, take a fresh look at it the following day and decide where / what to change up.

Save your rescuplt until you're set on the pose (in my opinion), and capture the portraits of your character as you go from day to day to keep track of what you've done prior. On occaision, you wish you hadn't redone a portrait, and having a visual guide from the past to work off of is nice.

Don't be afraid to click 'randomize' and then fiddle with what it gives you. It is a good way to force yourself out of your comfort zone. That zone ends up being a block to some neat creativity.

Good advice, randomize can give you a good base to start with, something that gives a bit of inspiration, just keep clicking till you see something with potential. Google human face, the first will show you the "magic" formula for facial proportions, but that's also a small guideline. Also the mouth being out or in when moved from the side can make a big difference. Finally when all else fails try a different race. For me Minmatar and Gallante work best.

I usually come up with a concept of what an avatar should express, what archetype I'm going for. I wanted mine to look a bit like a grizzled Minmatar combat engineer, say... Han Solo with a touch of Scotty, and a dash of the Shadow Broker's brooding arrogance. Once you have this mental picture, it becomes a lot easier to express it in the character creator.

I like to break out the big bong when I create avatars it helps me with my vision.

Also I don't know if it's just me, but your actual character model in game (That you walk around with) looks barely like the one you make in the character creator.
