Alright, this is getting really, really old.

I played EVE Online about a week ago with NO problems. Today I tried to launch the game and got this error:

Your EVE client installation may have modified, damaged or corrupt files. Please run repair.exe located in the EVE game directory or re-install the game client.

When I go to run the repair tool, it fails.

The reason I said this is getting really, really old is because this has happened to me several times over the last year or so. I will go to play the game, everything to fix the client will fail and I end up having to uninstall and reinstall the game.

Here is what the repair.exe gets to before it fails.

This happens every single time. I do not understand why the repair tool never works. All I know is I will not be able to play the game unless I AGAIN uninstall the client and re-download the multi-gigabyte install file.

I am so tired of this I may just close my account

NOTE: I had to delete a few lines of the repair.exe log because the forums said I could not post HTML

You have read/write access to your Eve install directory, right? Windows systems can get permissions problems too...

Yes I run the launcher/repair tool in administrator mode and they have full READ/WRITE permissions.

I am now thinking there is a problem with my launcher. I tried to patch to the new 395875 version and I believe the launcher tried to install a corrupted/incomplete patch and now my client is only partially patched. I say that because when I cleared the cache from the launcher and forced it to check my EVE client version, it thinks it's 395875, so the launcher is trying to update from 395875 to version 395875.

The problem I am faced with now is I can't seem to roll back the partial installation and use a manual patch I found in another thread.

I am thinking I am going to have to, once again, uninstall EVE and reinstall.

Total... bullshit.

Well I just deleted everything out of my EVE folder except repair.exe and low and behold, the repair tool actually works.. WHEN THERE IS NOTHING IN THERE!

I don't understand, I don't even care to. All I know is that the repair tool had to download all 6 GBs worth of files to 'repair' them. Now the client works.

I've had nothing but trouble with this stupid launcher corrupting my patches and I really wish CCP would fix it.
