Just like the topic says. Is it possible to dock your.. say.. T3 into the orca while you are under fire? Locked and such?

I didnt hear about this change, i believe scooping ships into an orca and jumping into high sec is, for now, still a '1337' peeveepee tactic as seen by heretics in the alliance toruny. No one explained to them its not an available tactic there though.

Theres only two ways to be sure, one way is to nuke it from orbit as always, the other is to try it. GL

Crosi is correct. It is still done and I've seen it done as of yesterday. Heretic is rather infamously known for doing this as a way to avoid losses but there are other lesser known corps doing this.

If Pyro has a dev blog that says otherwise, I'd like to see it.

I thought I read somewhere you could bail out of the ship and have the orca scoop it up, but you could not just do an insta - switch to another ship in the orca hangar. I may be wrong, its not a tactic I like or would use myself, so haven't tested it.

It can be done... and the rage it brings is wonderful. Lol

I personally don't do it as I don't have an Orca alt to mess with. :/

Ya can,

Though if you're willing to toss away 20 Geddons you can just jump on in after the orca and GCC it to death ala Raiden. (Check Youtube)

I have seen a tool doing this on a lowsec station to. Had his alt remote sensor boosting him in a carrier and repping him while he sat in his Mach with arties ganking people.

Was total pro and L33t

I was still in Suddenly Ninjas when they "adjusted the Orca" (for which SN was quite notorious in the early exploitation thereof) and here's how we did the work around.

  1. Use the command "Launch in Space" to throw out the new ship you wish to swap into (best to use a throwaway Cane or something reasonably obscure/unpopular/difficult to train, say a Legion or Sleipy, in case the Hostiles are on-the-ball and quick on the Mouse).

  2. RIght click and board that ship as quickly as possible, then lock and point the Hostile.

  3. Orca Alt scoops to SMB the abandoned original ship, which in the case of a ninja frigate, may or may not bounce away, assplode, etc. so it's anything but foolproof.

Haven't used this in a few months, but it works quite well. If for some reason you can jam the guy you're "fighting" (holding point on him more accurately), you can simply swap as per the original functionality. This is much easier where NPCs aren't involved and this may have been cleaned up in recent patches, but was working fine not all that long ago.

For maximum hilarity, have a series of extremely tanky T3s in your Orca and once things get dicey, swap to a new one. Unless it's been patched recently, they'll come out of the Orca w/ healthy shields and you can keep on pew-pewing with Orca recycling RR.

Your alliance tells ppl to come to amamake to fight and have fun, you guys camp the gates with SB BS and T3's with an orca on the gate.

I think you guys are going to make sure no one shows up to your own tourney.

Question. Are Orca's counted as Caps or Subcaps for the purpose of DD?
