Hmmm...paintballs. Zero-damage, GCC-free paintballs sold in a variety of colors. Available at your nearest NPC outlet. Starting off they would just make pretty splatters in space, but if CCP ever decided it was worth the eye candy, they could actually leave paint marks on the ships.

Session changes would clean the paint.

Lets be honest here...

All your suggestions are to remove ISK from the game. Which ok I do agree there is too much of it about.

The real problem is most people fund thier accounts with ISK buying plex.... 9 out of 10 people would either quit or atleast cut down on thier numbers of alts the day they had to pay with RL cash.

I fear removing ISK from the game would have a knock on effect and be the final straw which broke the cammels back.

PLEX would still be there and if you can afford it today, you'd be able to afford it with more isk sinks in the game. The idea is to prevent inflation, which makes plex MORE expensive.

The idea is to keep inflationary pressures natural, not to increase or decrease prices. At this point, over very long periods of time, the cost of everything is changing because the value of ISK itself is changing. It's changing because there is simply more of it. The more there is, the less each one is valued by the player and there is a form of price creep just by this alone.

The addition of more sinks shouldn't be a short-term noticable thing. If that is happening all of a sudden then it means that we failed, either in concept or in balance. The idea is nothing more than keeping the increase of isk proportional to an increase in the player base or an increase in overall activity rather than an increase because there aren't enough ways that money is flowing out of the capsuleer economy.

With a slight constriction in the amount of overall cash on hand then prices should shift more or less the same across the board at the same time. After all, a PLEX is just another item on the market, at this point. A more valuable ISK should make underbidding rivals more attractive across the board, and market PVP should ensure that the relative value of any given item should remain more or less constant. That is, unless, someone has the market power to force the price to say the same and then just pocket the effective profit. That could happen anyways, however, and really isn't an effective arguement in this case.

That being said, there are a lot of "should" in this post, and that's mostly because you're dealing with people more than abstracts and people are dicks.

How about charging everyone rent and tax.

Eve is all about hoarding and this ethos needs an intervention involving clearing the junk out of the house and lifting the bloated inhabiants out of the window with a crane.

Rent would be an massive isk sink that doesnt have to be too expensive to make a big impact. Make it so you get charged by m3 or valuation % for everything you have stored in a station, same with rent for corp hangers. Docking fees even perhaps? This would have to be combined with revamping pos's to make them more habitable than sitting in a bubble. It would force the scared bears and 0.0 power blocks to put their assets out in space and become actually destructable as so many complain they should be.

Tax could be on all isk and increase in a similar manner to rl. You could even make faction warfare allow a 'tax exempt' charitable donation that could affect the price of facion equipment via lp store that cant be sold on the market. Tax would also help prevent rent causing people to just keep all their assets as liquid isk, only hold the ship or two they're currently using.

If you balance the proportions of both so it affects people with huge amount of isk and assets more then it'd be all good.

And if loads hoarders rage quit over it all then that'd be even better for inflation. People might find it awkward to adjust at first, but eve is already feeling the heart palpitations of some thing that reall needs to get on the tread mill and loose some weight.
