What entities in High Security space can be agressed with out incurring a GCC timer?

Denize recently posted about smuggling illicit items by distracting Custom Officials at stargates using an alt to shoot, but not kill, the Custom Official's ship orbiting the stargate.

This lead to my current question, is there a list of items in High Sec space that can be agressed with out incurring a GCC timer?

Such as:

  • War targets
  • Corp members
  • Any player you have a valid aggression timer against.
  • NPC station transport ships (other than Concord station haulers)
  • Ships piloted by NPC Custom officials (not certain)
  • NPC Rats (mission, belt, anoms, etc)
  • Large Collidable objects in mission pockets (Acceleration gates, etc)

I could build this list myself, and very well may, using an alt to run around and shoot random objects and observe the results.

Anyone else have experience on this topic and wish to contribute?

Kind Regards,

Haven't check in years but there were some situations where the station turrets would shoot at you, defending the NPC hauler.

Tthe incoming npc haulers that can be shot and looted for luxuarys

The out going ones are protected by the station guns

    Pods.

I actually mean it. If he took a can of your corp and he pops,
you can shoot the pod. You still get popped (not sure if CONCORD or sentries),
but there's no GCC involved. (weirdly enough)

Took me quite a while to figure that one out.

It depends where you shoot the NPC courier ships.

If you shoot them on the NPC station they undocked from, or if they are going to dock at a NPC station of the same NPC corp station from whence they came, then the station's own NPC guard will aggress you back, and it can definitely hurt.

However, if you shoot the NPC couriers on a station that belongs to an NPC corp that is not the same corp as the one where the NPC couriers originated from, then the only aggression you will get are the courier's own pop guns plinking you back.

In both cases, you will incur a sizable standings hit with the NPC corp that the haulers belong to (ie, the NPC owner of the station that the haulers originated from.) So if you want to keep your precious +10 standing with Caldari Navy, don't go around shooting NPC couriers that came from Caldari Navy stations.

There was once big(isn) money in scanning down these NPC couriers back in the day, when they would drop loads of Harvester drones and other actually useful items like Robotics and such. Just sit there with a cargo scanner and pop-n-scoop the ones with the good loot. Nowadays, and it's been like this for years, you'll only see worthless NPC trade goods, perhaps some PI level 1 items (Water, for example) and Reports/Data Sheets (useful for a quick source of BPO research materials.) Before they were removed from NPC courier drops, people built up stacks of 1000's of Harvester drones which now go for 50+ mil a pop.

Also, to add to the OP's list: People you have Kill Rights on.
