i am sure ccp is making it so that boosters will show on kill mails in the near future.. as in NOT soon.

I'd agree that boosters must be on-grid. The idea would scale well through all levels of fighting, from using things like Loki or Claymore in small gang warfare, to fully tanked million EHP Damnations in mid-sized gangs, to even having links placed on supercarriers in fights where a million EHP are gone in seconds. Players would have to make their own choices as to what they could keep alive in a given situation. It's a risk vs reward situation - do you want good survivabilty or good boosts?

For solo pvpers there has always been the humble T1 BC as a boost boat. You can dual box a pair of nano canes with a link on each (so that's 25% speed and point range right there). That's a decent enough boost, at cheap cost (not that anyone gives a damn anymore in this age of deadspace fit T3 and pirate BS) and they are mobile and barely less effective than they would be without links on. Or you could take a Claymore and Sleipnir pair. The command ships are designed to be tanky for what they are, and the T1 battlecruisers are all good, versatile ships. Rather than making "ganglink boats" just try and fit them into your regular fits. It's called "Adapt". You know the alternative.

ah at what point did ccp ever say EVE ONLINE was a solo players game?

Off grid boosting is part of the game never think a 1v1 match is ever 1v1. Honor in eve is a rare thing in pvp allway think someone has a edge some were weather it off grid boosting or a nuet rr just waiting to rep your target or if your the fool that took the can a fleet ready to drop on you at any point of that fight.

Yes iam in a corp called solo and loveing but even i learned it alot easyer with other around so i joined allinace.

Eve has never been a solo players game for pvp hell most cases you need 2 account just get **** done now so never think its 1v1.

I think a Dev was talking about wanting to do that. I don't remember it, and I applaud the idea entirely.

I think boosts are awesome, and should be a priority for any gang or fleet. I also think boosts should only be available on grid.

ITT: People who are jelly that they can't afford/don't have/think they're holding onto some sort of pride by not using link alts.

Anybody who thinks that off-grid boosting should be nerfed clearly fails to understand the role that such boosting fulfills. It literally won't make a difference if it is nerfed, you will still run into blobs and die, and you will still have a lack of "solo" fights. The only thing it will do is kill any sort of small gang guerilla pvp where you fight out numbered and need links that can't get destroyed (easily) in order to outmanuever and outplay larger and less organized people, regardless of whether or not they have links themselves.

Also I like the obsession people have with killmails also, it's a little funny. Seems to me like OP died to somebody he thinks was using a link alt, and is complaining because his corp trolled him about losing a 1v1.

If you'd like to actually "buff" solo pvp, whine for ecm drone and ship nerfs. Particularly ECM drones and the fact that they have no stacking penalty when you have 1209375729295472948 on you. Yea, that's cool.

Can't people use an Orca for boosting and then have the Rorqual sit at the POS for compression of the ore?

Or is my knowledge of fleet mining technique lacking?

So what you're saying is that you think the boosters should have to be on grid to encourage that 1 guy and his alt to bring 10 friends to the fight instead of being able to do something challenging that involves some skill. That's a terrible idea, go back to flying your drake.
