I'd prefer a movie about Gallente-Caldari war and the Amarr-Minmatar war depicting the leaders of all 4 sides forming alliances with the other group and covert missions highlighting the liberation of million Minmatar slaves with Gallente aid and the taking back of Caldari Prime like in day of darkness II

I smell a second movie......

You would have to set the movie before the current time. Reason being that in Eve we make the stories (the ones that matters anyway), if you talk to a few vets who have been around since near the beginning they can tell you the stories of New Eden. Hell, most of the major alliance leaders could have an entire film devoted to them, they have changed the shape of Eve, they have caused rage, ship destruction on a massive scale, the fall of empires and maybe even a little love along the way.

As already said, apart from Clear Skies, the film should be almost historical. Before pod pilots as if you had to include pod pilots then it would just be a bunch of ships talking to each other in space...

Put some eyes on the ships... Like in Cars...
Make sure you can spin them... (ships & eyes). Guaranteed success! (...and so surrrreal, even I'd love it...)

That's an impressive cast. It will be interesting to listen to them chatter amongst themselves as they mine together for 2 hours.

I would like to see one of Tony's books up on the big screen. Movies about political intrigue, but with lots of action tend to do pretty well.

I'd love to see some (good) movie being made, but let's be honest. Most might just complain it's not just about shooting stuff in space and spaceships with all the characters, clothes, love-story, talking, blabla, etc. in it. :)

But when was the last GOOD space movie? I've watched 2001, Apollo 13, Event Horizon, Sunshine and Solaris too many times.

These are just my top favorites though. There are others but I haven't yet found a single (recent) movie that simply involves space and something bad happening, you know, on a full Hollywood budget. Something that captivates you and makes you WANT to be in space.

That's where the hook-line-and-sinker is.

I got dibs on Statham. Or Michael Ironside. I'll bet he would actually take a part in an Eve movie.

I wouldn't want CCP to actually produce it. But license it to a studio that knows how to do such things. Could be epic.

I think the more recent wormhole line could be very interesting. Full of tension and dark scary sleepers. Damn, I feel like writing again.

1) CCP should make or produce (or get one produced) a movie within the next 5 years. Filling the current scifi drought in cinemas could be quite profitable, especially with a setting like EVE's.

2) ABSOLUTELY NO 3D. It's a stupid gimmick that does not work, makes you put on cheap, flimsy and dirty glasses that muddle the image way too damn much. I've been to Avatar and Tron Legacy in 3D, and even though they're supposed to be the posterchildren for this fad the effect was pretty abysmal. 3D is a way for moviemakers to make you pay more for going to the cinema, nothing else.

3) Don't stray too far from the game when making it. If it gets made i hope that it doesn't degenerate into every other game movie trope out there - As in, the movie having nothing to do with the game it's based on. It's not just Uwe Boll who does this.

4) A TV show would probably be a good idea instead of or after the movie. Again, there's a massive scifi drought at the moment, which is not being helped by the syfylis channel which is currently airing no scifi whatsoever.

If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all...

I can already see it: CCP releases a movie and 4 days later they release a patch for it XD

Although, releasing patches for movies has been done before by a little-known sci-fi movie director called George Lucas...

Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try.

Battlestar Galactica: The Plan

(or the reimagined series in general)

Some might disagree, but I really like the series. It lost a bit of its spirit after season 2, but it's still one of the best science fiction universes/series/settings created during the last few years, bringing together lots of different genres under one hood without really scaring away any group (as long as it's open to see some of the others). It got spaceships, fighting, robots, a post-apocalyptic story, politics, schemes, treason, love, etc. As for "The Plan": It got some epic space scenes and renderings, especially during the Cylon attack with all the navy ships being taken offline while the warheads rain down on the planet.

Edit: If you haven't seen the movie, here's a nice tribute video.

The only way they could make an eve movie is to have it end 2/3 of the way through with a suicide gank.

And if Monty Python hadn't already done it, it would be brilliant.

An Eve movie - or really, a series of movies - would be fantastic. Four movies, perhaps - all of them telling part of a long epic, but each movie from the point of view of a different empire. Or, as someone else has already mentioned, get some high-end animation company involved to produce an animated series.

And, of course, no Eve Movie would be complete without a Chribba cameo...

While it would be nice, I know it would be complete **** considering how ****** all the movies that have come out in the last 15 years or so...so I suppose doesn't really matter.
