Will CCP ever make an Eve movie?

I just spent the last hour checking out some of the CCP trailers. As a huge sci-fi buff (as many Eve players would also be) I realised just how much I miss the great space epics of the 70's and 80's.

For mine, some of the Eve clips are just staggering and if they were ever made movie length it'd do more for subs than any tweak could ever do. Movie takings alone would bring some nice coin.

Is CCP ever going to do such a project?

Would you go and watch it?

My idea of a movie about or set in the EVE Universe, would be a movie depicting the move to New Eden and the collapse of the EVE gate.

This

All automated intel should be removed from the game including Instant local/jumps/kills/cynos for all systems/regions.Eve should report nothing like this to the client/3rd party software.Intel should not be force fed to players. Player skill and iniative should be the sources of intel.

Agreed. Live action or computer generated? The latter would probably be less costly for them.

If you actually agree with this then "Like" the OP.

"New EVE Movie announced set to chronicle the migration through the EVE gate and it's collapse, set to release in imax3d worldwide."

"Due to time constraints, CCP has dropped the 3D, but it will still be on imax"

"Because of time and escalating costs, the EVE Movie will no longer be on imax"

"Technical issues have resulted in the EVE movie no longer depicting the collapse of the EVE Gate, but it is still mentioned in a text Epilog before the credits roll."

"In an effort to keep schedule, the EVE Gate will not be depicted on-screen at all, but written into casual conversation throughout the film"

"The EVE movie will no longer depict the outside of any spaceships because of bottlenecks in the art department."

"The entire EVE movie will be taking place within the confines of the cargo hold of an iteron 1"

"The EVE Movie has launched in 2 theaters in western England, is 15 minutes long, and tickets cost 60 Euros."

"The EVE Movie has pushed to DVD, sells for $250 and contains a bundled copy of an EVE trial, and 20 AUR."

"The bundled copy of the EVE trial has a built in security flaw. We advise anyone who bought the DVD to trash it and buy another. You will be given a $3 discount."

@mkint. You Sir are a poor troll. A misguided spoiled brat too me thinks.

[EDIT: Actually I take the poor troll back. Some of them are actually quite funny. Just a pity your skills aren't put to better use.]

lemme guess. You unsubbed but are still here because you're paid up? Curious if CCP could give us the stats how many players plexed up before "unsubbing".

Now, MOVIE dammit. Onwards.......

Jesus ******* Christ! I don't understand why people still even bother to play if they dislike CCP this much.

Yes, would be awesome. Also, get the writer of the novels (can't think of his name :( ) to help with the screenplay!

Although the cynic in me wonders how much blowing up and raging in local would be in an Eve movie... prolly best reason to do the pre-quel, so to speak!

I'd prefer a movie about Gallente-Caldari war and the Amarr-Minmatar war depicting the leaders of all 4 sides forming alliances with the other group and covert missions highlighting the liberation of million Minmatar slaves with Gallente aid and the taking back of Caldari Prime like in day of darkness II

sorry the neckbeards here can't appreciate the humor in this

anyhow, if CCP wants to pony up the cash I'll DP it for you
I have access to a RED ONE (for a nominal fee of course) or if thats too much I can get you a good deal on a rental through Ari, a decent head and a nice wide panavision lens.
we have access to some of the best talent in the industry here and theres a ton of active sound stages in NYC so no problem digging up ACs, grips and whatnot.

come up with a script and cash and we can get it on no problem.

It would take them 7 years to make the movie. Then you would have to wait in line for 2 years. Once at the cash register you would be told you don't have movie watching V and must go back to the beginning of the line.

PLOT: a guy (played by Jason Statham) wanders into Amamake and gets simultaneously ganked by every pirate, weekend pvp'er and bored nullsec carebear doing hotdrops all at once. He then tracks down all the offending parties and kills them in an increasingly violent and gory fashion, blows up some random stuff and bangs a hot chick for good measure. Also, his ship's self-destruct timer is running and every podkill gives him an extra 30 seconds to live.

The tagline? "EVE is Real and He's Really Pissed."

Hey. I'd go watch that.

Am I in it? Shall I present to offer the pilot Last Rites just in case he runs out of ammo?

If I were able to create an Eve Online movie, I would start with the different stories of individual capsuleers who struggle to survive in a sandbox universe where everything in life is cut-throat business (both economically and literally) and then later rise to prominence with the nullsec alliances and how they have fought each other for the monopoly on the high-sec market.

Gah, you stole what I was going to say. Clear Skies is the next best thing, but I would like to see a full-on lore related movie with BSG quality or better graphics.

I remember a long time back there were a couple of trailers released (Evolution - can probably find it on evefiles) where a group of players were going to make a feature length movie, but they never finished.
