Movie adaptations of computer games are always terrible.

I'd say for computer games based on movies it would definately be true.

I'd disagree on what you said. The other way around ,... there are some great movies around based on games.

You forget that EVE has TONS of lore,... you can make 100 movies about EVE purely based on it's lore. Lore is what could make a movie great. You just have to find great writers to make a great storyboard.

Please name some of these great movies.

Resident Evil (several of them)
Doom

Just 2 that pop up in my mind. Though liking a movie is always personal. I actually liked these movies.

Both were pretty awful. Better than most, but still terrible.

The first RE was the best. As far as the rest and Doom, yeah they are bad but I still enjoy watching them. Love movies! Hate movie snobs!

Also hate subtitles and shaking camera. You had to ruin Borne didn't you!

Do not assume anything above this line was typed by me. Nerf the Truth, it's inconvenient.

Doom is worth watching in an amusing sort of way, simply because of Karl Urban (Reaper).

I have long been a proponent of taking an alternate route with this.

I feel they should consider using Jessica as a base and putting out a series of Net movies available through YouTube. Somethnig along the lines of how they promoted and released Dr. Horrible's Sing Along comes to mind.

Properly promoted these things can develop a huge cult following and pave the way for a more traditional offering later.

I think you mean us. Kickstarter is a donation site. Furthermore, it's restricted to Us residents only. On top of that we're talking $100-200 million to make an animated movie in today's market. I bring this up because Kickstarter sets a deadline to receive the money. If the goal is not received by the deadline (probably because only a small percentage of the American players even bothered to go to the site) then no money is gathered and we're right back at square one.

Some story involving an expedition into WH space could be interesting. Of course, everything would go wrong (a spy closes the wormhole and destroys scanning equipment) and they would be trapped in an alien solar system, being forced to hide from the sleepers that they stirred up. Then some russian alliance comes in and destroys the sleepers mothership and everything else in an epic showdown with lots of explosions while the remaing expedition team barely makes their escape.

Clear Skies is a quality movie - a must watch if this kind of stuff interests you.

The script, voice acting and cinematography are of professional standard and I found the dialogue to be particularly quick and witty. Great choice of backing tracks too.

What's better than one astounding EvE movie? Well there's three of them for you to enjoy, for free :)

I'll write the script for free, and gladly give up the rights to it, so you save some buck there. It may or may not be overly emphasis on killing and harrassing people tho. P

Potentially a stretch, but Aliens vs Predictors.

The Alien series was of course it's own franchise as was the Predator series, both came from books.. They were brought together by a comic book that was released in the early 90s, which was later turned into a FPS video game that had decent success. This later brought about the fan fare to allow the movies to be made in which there have been two to date, both using their own story-lines out side the realm of the game & comic book.

It was probably a unique case of having a game built around the idea that started from a book/movie combo that led to a comic book that allowed a game to happen which later helped spur along more movies.
