You should have waited for a windows 8 phone/tablet.
They'll run The EVE client natively.

No they won't. Windows 8 may support the ARM architecture, that doesn't mean the EVE client will natively run on it.

Windows 8 tablets won't be running on ARM. Those will be called Windows RT tablets.

Windows 8 is confirmed compatible with Eve.
Windows RT is confirmed incompatible.

Dammit, beat me to it. But this.

I should be able to play EVE from my captains quarters -why can't my character create his own account?

how about you play a computer game on a computer?

define?

desktop?

laptop?

notbook?

tablet?

smartphone?

tbh these are all computers...

desktop and laptop are computers,
a notebook is a **** laptop, so still a computer.
a tablet isn't really.
nor is a smartphone (clue is in the name "phone")
in short; does it have a keyboard and mouse? if so it's a computer.

My phone (motorola droid 4) has a full sized bluetooth mouse and keyboard, and HDMI out for a 1080p monitor... I'm posting from it now.

...A desktop phone at current.

But I can see people playing EVE on a similar setup after windows 8's RTM next month.

My smart phone has a keyboard and I can hook up a mouse to it, so I guess MY smart phone is a computer. I suppose any tablet owner that has one of these also has a computer. I think you definition of computer is flawed.

What's a computer!

Do not assume anything above this line was typed by me. Nerf the Truth, it's inconvenient.

Please make me able to walk in space with my IPad.
All I need is access to the markets, cargo / items, ships and research/manufacture.

Just make it so I can not undock, that should be possible. **** un-docking anyway.

Perhaps CCP could port Eve to Xbox Smartglass and then you could play the game in PC (Windows 8), in all tablets and in all smartphones. Smartglass support is coming to iOS, android, windows operating systems... Though porting Eve to this system probably isn't possible due to how Eve and Dust servers will connect to each other (reasons: Sony, Microsoft and why Dust didn't come to Xbox..).

True story.

My question is, will the Win8 Pro tablets run it well? I've heard they'll run Civ 5, so... take that how you will.

Left the basement in the last couple years? Everyone has a tablet. Even poor people. they have the kindle fire. Serious around income tax time(US) everyone in the hood bought a kindle. Ipads still rule my area, but I still all kinds when I'm out and about.

*edit

Last year at refund time everyone in the hood bought a netbook. now they all got tablets. wonder what happened to all those netbooks.
