Xenurian Computer Rating - Find out your rank in the world!

Author
Xenuria
#1 - 2012-07-24 23:39:29 UTC
The purpose of this thread is to inform and educate while also having some fun.
Disclaimer: The Xenurian Computer Rating is not actually real and has no bearing on your manhood/womanhood or your value as a person.

Instructions:

Step 1
- First Do This --->PC Pitstop Scan
- This needs to run in internet explorer with administrative privileges.
- After the scan is completed take a screenshot of your world rankings. (Click Summary then click Ranking)
- Disclaimer: Do NOT post the link to your scan results unless you want people to see what you have installed and other personal information about your computer. Absolutely no identifiable information is listed in the results of the scans just installed hardware and such.
I have nothing to hide so I will post mine. Xenuria PC Ranked top 4%

Step 2
- Next do this --->Belarc Free (No corporate use allowed)
- This program will spit out a local list of things that are secure or not so secure about your computer. Simply type what your rating is. Once again this is optional, if you would rather not people know how poorly secured your computer is according to some government rating system then don't post your number.
- I scored 10 out of 10 on the USGCB Standard (Duh I'm Xenuria)

Step 3
Talk about your next step. What hardware upgrades do you intend to get in order to match or surpass your rivals?

Well the scan works with IE in admin mode. I did not make it that way.

Indeed, like many sites do, for example nvidia's site hardware detector and other such major companies.
Besides isn't the new IE supposed to be **** hot? I haven't tried it yet but I hear it's faster than chrome.

IB4 Firefox no script yada yada yada, there is no need, just gett moar girlfriend and watch less dodgy porn sites! Blink

Considering most sites cap how much bandwidth they use on a single client, having a faster browser only helps so much.
With that said I want to see some scores!

Also if you are into video card benchmarking I would suggest A New Dawn.

One of the goals of this thread was to get people to wake up about how insecure and unhealthy their computer systems were. It was my hope that by informing people about security holes and instabilities they would fix them or try to and this would result in less compromised accounts. This would in turn result in less wait in petition time. Less dirty isk, etc.

Just here to post in an Xenuria thread. That is all.

Surrender is still your slightly less painful option.

Been away for a while and yet ... yes, posting here just to post in a Xenuria thread. Seems not much has changed in my absence

Chrome as default browser (for gmail, yahoo mail, local HTML, and a few sites that are otherwise problematic), Opera as main browser (for everything else) opened manually. Haven't touched IE in ages, even if I keep updating it "just in case".

Also, don't plan to let some uncertain trustworthiness site (it might actually be very trustworthy but I don't feel like checking) posted by a dubious reputation person get too much access to my system via IE in order to do something that is of questionable actual usefulness.
In other words, thanks, but no, thanks.

well PCpitstop didn't like my computer. probably because of security I have setup on it.
and the belarc adviser gave me 1.25/10. but that's largely because I use the entire network as a security device rather than just my computer, and even more so since I've opened certain areas of my computer and network to make network functionality more effective.
