I've always loved lowsec, even when it was ****. Little niche groups can move out to a certain part of lowsec and make a killing, and then pirates will migrate there to gank the (usually bad at PvP) niche group, and then more pirates will show up and start killing one another. After a certain point the area gets overfished and magically respawns somewhere else. I like that lowsec is getting its own distinct flavor, so to speak, with FW.

On the subject of blobs... again, the eternal "depends" for me. If a roam is pre-planned and multiple corps have said to join in, each can do their own paperwork and supply a wing. If each wing meets up with the FC at roughly the same time, forms up nicely and the entire thing can be underway in 10 minutes from reaching a safe, I'm game.

If I have to sit in a safe for two hours waiting for action, I'm effectively getting nothing done during that time. I'm just in for the ISK (meaning I just want to pew pew and plex once in a while) so then I'd rather be roaming with my gang pulling ISK out of sites. I'm not babysitting FC's. Then again, if a friendly FC next door has unwelcome visitors and we are ratting, adding us to the blob just takes 1 jump and a few clicks. Response-blobs in low can be very fun if the FC isn't too serious.

You're doing it wrong...

Warp to belt. Scan while warping
Scan
Scan
Scan
Scan
Warp to next belt. Scan while warping
Scan
Scan
Scan
Scan

Rinse repeat...

The fact you have to protect yourself by gaining intel does not change the dynamics of lowsec and the fun that can be had there.

The party in lowsec mechanics is, in fact, stopping with franticly scanning in the fear of being sniffed out and actually attending it.

Find out who hangs around a specific spot. Often they are all to happy to talk about standing agreements if you are wiling to roam with them and leave their assets in space alone. As soon as you have brokered yourself enough Blues to feel safe-ish in that local, gate- and station camps become less of an issue and you can move more freely. That doesnt mean you should abandon d-scan. But you can relax more and use it every 30 seconds or so, instead of constantly. If you anchor some containers in belts and safes, you can secure loot/salvage so it won't be lost when you get pwnd.

There's no party when you are on your own. My last solo venture into low ended with a Drake dropping on me when I hacked 4/5 towers in a radar, after having spammed some bait in local chat. I sought contact with their CEO and soon sat in jolly private convo with the same pilot who'd have popped me a few hours ago. Fun, fun times.
