I simply devastate the margins on the item that is being botted and/or aggressively traded.

When I'm trading, I don't care whether it was a 2% or 200% profit on a sale, as long as I make a profit. (And even if I don't, I've got enough income from other sources that I don't mind taking a 1 or 2% loss, just to deprive the bot/.01 isker a profit, as well. ) I've got no interest in camping the station and playing the .01 isk game, nor do I want to just drop out of the market to give the other person a win (I'm competitive (read: Stubborn) like that), so I turn it into a no-win situation.

Basically, if I find that someone is camping something I'm selling and .01 isking me, I'll gouge the margin. First by a relatively small amount, 5 or 10% of the total margin on the item. If they undercut me within a short period of time, I'll gouge the margin by another 15-20%. If they do it again, another 25%. They either learn their lesson and stop undercutting me or they don't make anywhere near as much money on their investment as they had originally planned.

The entertainment value of knowing that I'm wrecking another player's margins is satisfying enough. If I still make a decent profit on the item, it's just icing on the cake.

Now, if they want to buy my goods and put them up for resale at their original level, I've got no problem with that, haha. I made money, they get stuck with having to go through the trouble of selling the goods and .01 isking like they enjoy, so everybody wins, haha.

Ah, so that's the imbecilic reasoning behind that gouging. Interesting to look into the mind of a moron.

On the contrary, Removing profits indefinably is a very effective strategy for removing competition if you dont mind not making ISK from that alt for up to 1 year on your favorite Market Nich'e

So all you do is just ruin the sales for other people, not even to make any profit from it? And you're not even ashamed of being... that? Amazing.

Just for your information, and for the likes of you. You're not the only stubborn person on the market. Quite contrary, people who .01 isk you are in fact more stubborn than you are, hence they don't have to resort to dumb and inefficient tactics that only cause losses for everyone. So when you undercut something, you'll get .01 on top of it, just to make sure you aren't selling, no matter how much you cut it. And it will be done untill you're pushed into the non-profit ground, from which we can either buy the goods you so kindly delivered without charge, or enjoy watching you dumping your stuff for no profit. Because unlike you, we have patience and we will not die just because one order stopped selling for a couple weeks.

Instead of going through all of that, you may just play the game like everyone else does and profit accordingly to the effort you are willing to make. Unless it's just too much a challenge for a stubborn person like you. Roll

Lol if ruining game for other ppl is so bad what about gankers ? suicide ones ? evil pirates killing miners? etc

Ruining market isnt done cos one is stubborn but on contrary lasy , and gives up on that for a time or so on .
Play the game like everyone else ... EVE is a harsh place sooner you learn better you sleep :)

It's called getting rid of the competition. If someone moves into some regions I'm buying/selling in and start do to the .01 isk game with me on my orders i'll do everything I can to make it no longer profitable for them. Sure for a while I wont make a profit, and might even lose money for a few days, but once this person is gone I can go back to being profitable. The moment someone is able to make a bit of profit on an item they stay forever, slowly eating away at your profits by doing the .01 isk game, and causing you to lose sales (every time they make a sale instead of yourself).

By "ruining the game" I am able to keep competition low, and my profits over the long run high. If I have to be stubborn to keep rude people from placing orders for the same items I am, then i'll make sure the only people who win is everyone else besides this 1 guy.

Lol. We don't leave, we wait.

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.
