Observations on the Amarr Askura.

It is Written:
"For whosoever shall lay his life down for his Lord
He shall be taken into the arms of God
And forever consecrated will he be
But whosoever shall turn from the light
And run in fear
The Lord shall abandon him
And forever forsaken will he be"

Observation of towns and cities reveals many Monuments to individuals that were killed in Action against Heretics and Unbelievers. It can be argued that those Names are forever consecrated. The names of Heretics and Unbelievers are almost never Recorded.

Observations of other cultures reveals a Similar Pattern, where individuals killed in action are remembered, while the names of opponents are not.

Therefore, the Amarr Askura is Truthful, and the principles contained within are Valid and Useful for a Righteous Person.

Measurements of Unrighteousness.

Examination of Human People from different Cultures reveals Much about the Righteousness or Otherwise of the populations they come from.

There are Several Measurements that are of Interest.

These include, but are not Limited to, the Social Structure, the Code of Behaviour, the Industriousness, and the Moral Principles.

The Most Relevant Scriptures are:
"In the beginning all things were as one.
God parted them and breathed life into his creation
Divided the parts and gave each its place
And unto each, bestowed purpose"
- The Scriptures, Book I 1:4

"Chosen, you are first before God.
You are the True and the Faithful.
But in such a state must you hold yourselves high above all.
And constantly prove yourself worthy of Gods Love.
How can such a gift be repaid,
Other than to toil all our days,
In his glorious service,
According to his will,
Serving him always,
Bearing him first in our thoughts,
Always must we strive to show him our worth,
For we are the Chosen, Blessed above all."
- The Scriptures, Anoyia's Exhortation to the Faithful

"My word lies within all,
All it requires is the breath of faith,
To ignite the fire,
So the lost can find their way,
So the fallen can rise,
To take their place as my chosen,
For you are all my creation,
And are all equal in my kingdom."
- The Apocryphon

If we Examine the Amarr Population, we See that:
The Amarr follow a Scheme wherein there is a Distinct Social Order - Holders > Commoners > Serfs. This recognises that Every Person has a Different Purpose. +1
However, the Amarr do not allow much Social Movement, preventing the Righteous from changing their social Status. -1
The Amarr have a distinct code of Behaviour, including Dress Codes, forms of Address, and much more. +1
Industriousness is also considered a Virtue, +1. Moral Behaviour is also Important, with a clear description of Things that are Appropriate and things that are Not. +1
Thus, the Amarr are given a Righteousness Value of 3.

The Caldari Population is Similar:
The Meritocratic Principle of the Caldari, demonstrates that Righteous persons may Rise above the social level in which they were Born. +1
Industriousness is a Virtue in Caldari Society. Productivity is very Important. +1
There is a Distinct Behavioural Code, although this is often Impenetrable to Non-Caldari. +1
Thus, the Caldari are Also given a Righteousness Value of 3.

The Minmatar People are Interesting:
The Voluval Ritual demonstrates some Understanding that Every Person has a Purpose, although Interpretation of the Result can have Odd Consequences - the Bad Marks as an Example. +0.5
The actions of the Individual allow a Minmatar Person to achieve great Things, this is Recorded in their Tattoos, allowing a person acting Righteously to rise through Society. +1
Industriousness is also Important, as it is considered to Benefit the Tribe and People. +1
The Dress and Behaviour Code is Confusing to Outsiders, until the Importance of the Tattoos is Comprehended. +0.5
Thus, the Minmatar have a Righteousness Value of 3.

The Gallente People are Peculiar.
There are Numerous Documents arguing that any Individual may lay Claim to any position in Society. This would seem Righteous, but it has the Effect of Allowing Persons without Talent, but possessed of Popularity to obtain Positions of Importance, leading to Mismanagement and Disorder. +0
Industriousness is valued by Some, but not by Others. While some achieve Great Things due to their Efforts, other persons act in ways as to Squander their Talents, without this being Disapproved of by Society. +0
Forms of Dress are Random and there is no System that can be Determined. There is a Culture of Anything Goes, Unless It's not Popular. +0
The moral Principles are also Confusing and Random. Slavery is Condemned by Law, but Accepted by Some Persons in Practice, as an Example. There is no Consistency, and some Persons are Praised for Behaviour that other People are Condemned for. +0
Thus, while there are Numerous Gallente Individual Persons who are Righteous, such as Renowned War Hero Former Luminaire General Seriphyn Inhonores (righteousness value of +4), the Society as a Whole has a Righteousness Value of 0.

Thus, the Gallente People are Most in Need of the Guiding Light of Scripture, as is Written.
"The word of the Lord is pure,
It is a shield for the faithful,
Brought unto men by the Angels,
As a guiding light in the darkness "
- The Scriptures, Prophet Anoyia 8:15

The Gallente live in Dark Times.

Thank you for this, Synthia. I am particularly drawn to the role of the individual in your analysis. It has me helped gain further insight into my own study of what I call "The Amarr Paradigm."

In particular, I now see the Sabik and Nation incarnations of said paradigm as opposing anchors based around the status of the individual. On the Sabik side, we see the individual as tasked with elevation of self to the greatest extent possible - seraph transformation if you will, regardless of cost to self or others. On the Nation side (albeit interpreted through dear Tibby more than Kuvie himself), we do not have the elimination of the individual (as is commonly alleged by detractors), but instead the creation of a singular, paramount individual from all.

Amarr itself and the Khanid fall in between.

They have arguably harmed themselves with the rigidity of the caste system that you describe (not, mind you, that I am prepared to give up my comfortable rung in that system): the individual is prevented from rising as high as possible, per the Sabik exhortation, or from merging with all others, per the Nation implementation. Righteous interrupt.

Intriguing.

If we Examine a computor program, we See that:
The computor program follow a Scheme wherein there is a Distinct Order where every program has its Different Purpose. +1
However, a computor program do not allow much change, preventing inovation and growth. -1
The computor program have a distinct code of Behaviour. +1
Each and every program allways operates at its peak effeciency after its code, and can thus be seen as very productive +1
Each and every program holds true to its code, +1
Thus, the computor prgram is given a Righteousness Value of 3.

God is beyond and not bound by mere science.

If God requires a particular coin to flip "heads" for 10 time 10 to the 100th power, it will happen.

Statistics are useful for dealing with the physical universe, but attempting to statistically prove the existence of God is a fool's errand.

Observations from Interacting with Different Cultures.

I have Observed that Persons from different Cultures use Very different Metaphors, and are Confused by metaphors that they do not Relate to.

The Scriptures contain many Metaphors that relate to the Environment of Amarr Prime. The Mother World. Athra.

Desert Metaphors are common in the Scriptures.

In Comparison, Gallente Prime has many extensive Swamps and Marshlands, including the home of the Luminaire Skipper, a type of Amphibious Frog.

This Difference in Physical Environment affects the Metaphors that the Gallente Person uses and easily understands.

The Difference in Metaphors affects the Effectiveness of a Message intended to Persuade.

An Experiment to Test this may be Useful.

It would Compare Normal Amarr Metaphors effectiveness on Gallente Persons, with the Same message using Gallente Metaphors.

The findings could be Useful in creating new Missionary Leaflets.

Science and religion are essentially the same thing. They are both ways of perceiving the universe that are necessary in fulfilling each other. You claim that "Heathens" disregard religion in favor of science is somewhat accurate. But to be fair, and correct, you have to consider the one who disregards science in favor of religion as a heathen as well. As with all things, balance is necessary.

If religious beliefs and opinions are found contrary to the standards of science, they are mere superstitions and imaginations; for the antithesis of knowledge is ignorance, and the child of ignorance is superstition. Unquestionably, there must be agreement between the two. If a question be found contrary to reason, faith and belief in it are impossible, and there is no outcome but wavering and vacillation.

I find this interesting.

I was born and raised on a water world, but I'd say my upbringing was heavily steeped in the Scriptures.

You've suggested that the geographical environment can influence one's interaction with a metaphor. What about the other way around? Do you think that the Scriptures might carry, like some mimetic virus, a specific way of viewing and relating to the landscape?

I am Unsure of the Question.

It is Possible that reading Elements of Scripture will alter a Person's View of the Landscape.
