Ideas for Changes to Alliance Tournament Formats

I liked the comment yesterday about the potential for changes not just to ship points but to the arena format itself.

Personally I would like to see the fights take place with other unpredictable dynamics such as gate guns. You could even go as far as have one fleet setup on gate and one jumping in (one gets advantage of position and one gets temporary cloak and heads up on what the other fleet is in.
