The Krusual hail from the Tronhador Valley on Matar, a mountainous, volcanic region in the Southern hemisphere of the planet. Like most Matari Tribes the Krusual are matriarchal, tracing their ancestry through the female line.

In Krusual society, women are the center of all things. Nature, they believe, has given women the ability to create; therefore it is only natural that women be in positions of power to protect this function....They trace their clan affiliation through the women; a child born into the world assumes the clan membership of its mother. Though, matriarchal, the Krusual are egalitarian in practice, with men having the same basic status as women.

Tronhador means "Thunderer" in the local Matari dialect, named for the sound made by falling seracs, or ice bridges spanning the numerous crevasse in the region. It is also the name of the tallest peak in the region, a place of great spiritual import to the Krusual. The region hosts eight glaciers, all receding due to planetary warming trends in recent decades. The Krusual have a burgeoning tourist industry dedicated to hiking and exploration of the glaciers and climbing of the numerous mountain peaks in the region.

Tronhador is in a "wet" region of the planet, seeing much precipitation in the form of both snow and rain. As such, the near perpetual mists of Tronhador have added to the perception of secretiveness held about the Krusual Tribe. Tronhador is part of an alpine landscape of fjords, glacial lakes and u-shaped valleys. The capital of the Krusual territory is the city of Burtolok. A popular modern tourist destination on Matar, especially for Slud'n, a Matari winter sport involving high speed decent down a mountain on polished wooden runners or sleds.

Burtolok shops abound with Bunderang, Krusual medicinal, "runic charm bracelets" made by local shamans and said to ward off any number of maladies that afflict the human condition, along with other artwork hewn from the abundant obsidian deposits in the area. Chac'latt, a local Krusual delicacy is also abundant, and the sweet food is in much demand throughout the cluster. It is rumoured that Chac'latt is an ingredient in Quafe, though the company has never confirmed or denied.

The Burtolok Pass is famous as the site where the Krusual marshalled their forces and staged forays against the invading Amarr, stymying their efforts to subjugate the Krusual peoples.

The Krusual trace their ancestry to an ancient people called the Padaga, which local legend states came to Matar from the stars. The Padaga were said to be two and a half meters tall in conservative estimates, taller by some accounts, but, most modern scholars admit this is likely a gross exaggeration. Though, it is not unheard of for Krusual men to approach two meters at adulthood.

It's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then, and it's a poor sort of memory that only works backward.

Lovely bit of writing, are they both matrilineal and matrilocal, both name and property. Does Matari matriarchy ever extend further than that? Many ancient cultures have been matristic: mother goddess worshiping. I suppose I'm asking if they were ever a gynocracy, governed exclusively by women?

Thank you for the kind words.. Hopefully, the most recent additions answered your question.. Smile

I would think, perhaps, the Vherokior might fall into that category, though.. ^^^ Blink

We'll see if anyone can tackle them someday. Who knows, maybe I'll find time to look into it.. I am trying to be vague, yet, incorporate the hints and inspirations I have found, without outright debunking anyone's personal RP stance..
