I came across what I thought to be a whole gang of bots. To test this theory I bumped them all into a ball of hulks in the belt warp in. Unfortunatly I did not have any gankboats to hand. Our corp may have to come back to lonetrek and the forge to purge it once more.

Ah mission bots (if actually bots).

Easy way to determine. Follow them through missions for a while. Steal their mission item when one is available.

The bots won't know what to do for a while, and will either sit in space, or instantly warp to the station (seeing a red in overview does this sometimes).
AFAIK there isn't a bot written to click the quit mission button, so the bot will cease to function until their keeper comes back (well, they may warp back and forth, but not making any money).

And if one of them shoots you... Twisted

Are u sure they are bots?

What makes you think they are?

Well, there is one good way to tell if a person is botting, their toon is on 23/7 or pretty damn close to it.

But... you can only notice if *you* are 23/7 also... which will make you a bot also.

Sorry darling, not true, but you can sign on at a given time and then come back hours later and see the same people, then sign off and come back for when the servers shut down and guess what the same people still there. They run their barges and exhumers like clock work.

True, but a lot of bots also don't exhibit this behaviour, so it's not always a brilliant indicator. I also know a few obsessive gamers that work from home and play for 14+ hours a day at times, I expect mining lends itself quite well to this play style.

Although like I say I could be wrong, but this is what makes me and others who have reported them think they are bots. Just to clarify I am talking about what I beleive are mission bots.

Exumers you could bump and see if there's no reaction.

Funny! Sometimes one of my Hulks`s thrusters kick in at 100% without me noticing it and for no reason (I am sure I haven't double ckick in space). I then need to stop my ship or bring it around. I wonder if it is not someone at CCP checking to see if I am not a bot.
