New Ship Idea

I had this idea a while ago and I threw it at CCP Manifest a few months ago, but I don't know if it got anywhere.

So the idea was to have a ship that did bonus damage to structures.
This would be used full for small alliances and corporations that can't field 70-300 man fleets like the other nullsec power houses.

Its an interesting concept but it'll need to have some serious downside.

Dreads are already pretty good for this.

It would also benefit nullsec powers that can field 70-300 man fleets of structure supermelters.

Well it would be but the larger alliances still use Dreads, SC's and the occasional titans, but mainly Maelstrom fleets.
So the new ship would just have top be less effect than all of these but still effective enough for small groups of people to use.

So you want a ship that is more effective than subcaps for shooting structures, but can't be used for anything else? It sounds like you're looking for something called a dreadnought.

You can't use a dread to shoot at a large POS tower in high sec.


I can attest that shooting a POS in high sec with a small wardec corp fielding 10-15 BS takes a very very very very very long time.

And what would stop the not-so-small alliances from fielding bigger fleet of these ships? also, dreads?

You don't need an entire new ship. Simply Release new battleship guns(no missiles unless very high cycle time) with nil tracking, as in when you warp on grid, it takes a few minutes for your gun to get aimed at the target. If someone bumps you, your tracking would take a minute or two to re-adjust.

Bomber's paradise, effectiveness ruined if the targets has the smallest amount of velocity.

Not everyone has a dread.
Small alliances dude, this idea is geared towards them.

Agreed, it doesn't have to be a new ship, maybe just a added bonus to a stealth bomber so guerrilla tactics can still be used.

Again, not everyone has a dread.

As for "not-so-small alliances" fielding them, there is nothing to stop them. But the ship, as I said before, could be better for pos bashing than a battleship, less than a dread, but more than a bomber.
Also if a large alliance did attack a pos with these, a full fleet of them, it wouldn't be a good idea because the group being attacked could just come over and retaliate.
I'm thinking the ship would be like a frigate or maybe a cruiser, maybe just an added bonus to bombers or something.
