Well if u like the Alliance tournament than u d might like the proposal that i gave in assembly hall. Imagine the tournament like show, fun, emotions throughout the whole year. Streams every weekend, a league with a low barrier to enter since its all about t1 frigate brawls. Having constant streams trough the year of a sport that is happening in EVE in real time could bring lots of new players to New Eden.

there would be less prestige in winning if it was organized more often. not to mention it can cost alot of ISK to participate so we would see less unknown/smaller alliances

Well this d be a bit different from AT. It wouldnt be so much expensive cos its about T1 frigates. The cost/benefit for teams d be tuned till it works fluently. AT would have still its prestige. It would be about alliance and expensive setups. And this league would always have its own prestige too, firstly cos the league is long and being first at the end of it would always be a nice achievement.

At brings intense action for a month. This league would be lot more mild but would last longer.

It would make more sense to do something more low profile. Something along the lines of matches once a month or every other month, but being separate from the Alliance Tournament. You have to remember the overall cost for the alliances participating in this kind of event. It would be nice to see some organized skirmishes every once in a while, but not every week.

It'd lose way too much of its appeal if it happened more than once a year.

Smaller more gimmicky tournaments could have their place a couple of times a year independent of all this, stuff like frigs only, no t2 at all, etc etc, and even then that's only a maybe. Something with the livestreaming and fanfare and all of this really can only be once a year without losing what makes it good.

Yeah but it d be a bit of a different story than the AT, lot less intensive. I mean on AT u d have DEVS expensive ships etc and the show running trough 4 weekends whole day. In this league u d have EVE players running it and small frig brawls. And each Sunday it d take 2 hours tops for the matches to finish. So it wldnt be as intensive as AT but id would take 18 weeks to complete (20 teams fighting each other). On sunday u d have only to watch matches with some commentary, but every wednsday night u d have the Frigate mania show where some ppl d elaborate the past matches tactics, partecipants etc.

I mean is same like football u got games every weekend but still ppl aint bored when the world or Euro cup comes.

The audiences getting bored is only one thing you need to concern yourself with - the actual participants actually being willing to put any kind of effort or expenditure into doing this over an entire year is your real concern. Hint: they won't be.

There's definitely room for more tournaments that are more niche, like the tournament the residents of Syndicate organized and did. That type of stuff is really neat, but it needs to happen organically without an imposed schedule, and it absolutely cannot be year-round.

Yeah u r kind a right, thats why i brought this thing up to see ppl reactions. I mean dont be offended but that hint i wont take it as the EVE players thoughts.

Ahm AT has 64 teams x 12 players that are willing to participate for a full month.

And the league would be for a start 20 teams (being 5v5) so its 20x5= 100, but every team can sign btw 5-10 player so let say 200 players would be bound for the entire league. So 100 would play every Sunday and those other 100 would be changes or whatever.

Well i really believe that EVE has 200 players that d be willing to partecipate in it. The league would start on September and would last till the March. the matches wldnt be played on holidays etc.

And also being about frigates it appeals to lot more players than AT.

It d be enough time before and after the AT so ppl can rest from the competitions.

I can't imagine anything more boring than T1 frigate tournaments, it would ruin almost all the strategy. That said I like your idea. I think you misunderstand the costs though, ship losses are a tiny tiny fraction of the cost of participation.
