Seriously exploit a system for more killmails, I know the internet generates all kinds of artificial manhood but this is stretching it pretty far. Roll

It's a way for me to keep records of my past activities and accomplishments in the game. I don't know why you people get such a superiority complex because you supposedly don't care about killmails.
That was directed at the two posts directly above mine, and you have yet to tell me what effect it has on pvp. Perhaps you could have quoted Fiona Tsero instead to make more sense.

Edit: Nyreanya said it better.

Now now. Just imagine the hilarity when said people try to present their killmails/reports in a job interview.

"But look, look! I have blown up THIS many spaceships in EVE, so you HAVE no choice but to hire me!"

Fortunately, reality would just reply with a "GTFO from my office and live the rest of your life as a killmail junkie on the streets!"

A very plausible scenario considering how desperate people are for these reports.

Sorry how does a record of what actually happened in a fight affect the PVP itself at all?

Oh wait it doesn't. Someone is just mad that they may not be able to hide their losses. A bloo bloo.

you gave such a perfect example of quoted. And you are one of those who does pvp only for KB stats Lol

Carry on then. As far as the second part goes I think that was more meant as a response to Fiona.

I don't think killmails have a significant effect on PVP itself (although they can be a good source of intel). But yes, it is an improvement that supercaps can't hide their losses anymore. At least not by self destructing.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

Intel about how people fit their ships, which provides information and what they can fly and use (and how clever they are about that usage) and who they fly with — information that can be used in the next engagement. SDing only affects the former, but it's still a valid use for self-destructs.

Adding killmails for SDs is fine, as long as the intel-denial part is intact, imo.

You thought your external killboard stats were the entire game? What?

Hehe, I was thinking the exact same thing. Clearly having a leet pvp record of no lost shiny ships is the pinacle of elite pvp.

Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing.

This has actually given me an idea for a new service...

Hi there internet-spaceship friends!
If you feel you've been wronged by the dastardly "SD-To-Avoid-Killmails-Exploit", don't fret another day! Just send the kill details (As best you remember them) along with a small transaction fee of 100mil ISK to "Kyle Ward", and in no time you'll have your own super-legit, handmade Kill Report - immortalized forever in beautiful green crayon and the cardboard color of your choice!

But wait, there's more!
First time buyers that call in the next 30 seconds will get a second hand-crafted Kill Report absolutely free! (S&H not included)

The Sandbox, you're playing it wrong!

The idea of intel denial with a system like Local Chat still in play is beyond laughable.

Local does not provide a complete detailed list of who fits what, or of the conclusions you can draw from those fits.

Local is a completely different source of undue intel, and needs to be fixed in its own way.

Yes, you do get KM's now for an SD, but they tend to be a bit malformed. As mentioned above, we've seen it only for supercap sd's so far. But maybe it's just that nobody has tested it yet for subcaps. (Edit: Saw above that somebody did test it for subcaps. If that is accurate then it is only caps right now)

Here is a KM for another SD,
http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=13995922

And a video that actually shows it happening at 3:00.

Keep in mind that CCP said during Fan Fest that they would be doing this, so it shouldn't be too much of a surprise to anybody.
