That would work. The problem is ofcourse that mining is almost by definition done by people who dislike putting in effort and/or have to play in half-afk mode, and thus a solution that requires you to check your Dscanner every 2-5 seconds is probably not logical for players like that. Not saying ALL miners are that way but the vast, VAST majority are.


I'm quite glad they are, otherwise gankers would run out of soft targets sitting at 0 in the system belts and come looking for me!

this seems like an extremely risky endeavour though and I'd imagine by the time I finally saved the ISK to run it the winter update will be here and semi AFK mining in belts will be worth the risk again.

It is not only possible, but perfectly safe. As a bonus, if you lock your Orca whilst in your Hulk, no one can board it. No one would bother scanning you down anyway because :effort:.

Can I come mining with you? I'll give you 50% of my ore.

I used to do this all the time. Even had a few guys try and ECM me while I was mining. The tears when I jumped back into my orca and scooped my retriever as concorded descender were quite worth it. To this day I'm stilling awaiting my "payment" for shutting down their theft...

In the end its not really worth it though, especially with the huge buff to the mack's cargo capacity that's coming... Orcas are for fleet bonus's.
