When running anomalies like forsaken hubs etc, is faction loot a big part of the income? Im wondering because theirs a corp that seems interesting to me, but its in drone space. Oops

My main char has amarr carrier 5, Fighter 5.

Alt has Gal Carrier 4, Fighters 4. can work on DCU (think only level 2 right now but level 4 wouldnt take that long)

few scenarios.

Would it be best to use both carriers in one anom, or to do separate ones with each carrier?

Or, for simplicity and safety sake, would i be better off (i read in another thread) using 2 RR domis ?

As for faction ships i dont really want to bother considering a well fit mach is just as expensive as a carrier. (or am i being naive? a fit that someone once linked me that they did hubs with was almost 2bils )

thanks!

Best way for farming anoms (Sanctums/Drone Hordes, Havens/Drone patrols) for me has been dual running with nightmares, they have about 750dps with scorch and around 1050dps with navy multifreq, use x-large shield boosters and large energy transfers, 3 heat sinks (Very much worth it to invest in navy heat sinks), the tank is more than enough and if a hostile appears you can quickly warp out since its only a bs not a capital.

And about anomaly running, it is better to run havens/patrols and sanctums/hordes than hubs/squads, ive been grinding these in drone space and pirate space, in drone space the sites are very easy, have good bounty but dont drop any loot and have poor salvage, in pirate space however they have good bounty, are a little bit harder but they drop good modules/salvage and sometimes spawn a faction ship at the end but the chances are not high.

Both drone and pirate anomalies can escalate into plexes which is about 2% chance of happening if I remember correctly, I can confirm that this happens equally with both drone and pirate anomalies from own experience.

Otherwise, no the faction loot is not a big part of anomaly income, the fact that if you run them correctly you can get around 150m/hr is the main income from anoms , the faction spawns and escalations are a bonus.

Im about to run angel anomalies with a machariel fit I made in EFT, it looks like the best anomaly grinder so far (I havent tried it yet) with about 1300 dps and enough tank. (I use 2 accounts with the same ship and fit always).
I have never liked depending on drones for DPS, they are slow moving (the ones that deal good damage to larger ships), aggro taking and they dont deal the same DPS if you take into account the flight time it takes for the drones to get to the target and also when you have to switch drones for different ship types.

When you have expensive and good ships grinding these anoms, they pay off really quickly so investing in expensive modules is not a bad idea but for god sakes keep your eyes on local and you should be safe.

Faction loot generally isn't a big part of income. Now, if you were running exploration sites, that would be a whole different story. But you can think of anoms as lvl 4's that you don't have to dock up to pick up, or leave system for.

As for ships to run them in, you have a few options:

2 RR domi's:
cheap, affordable, easy to import, and can pump out about 700dps with guarde 2's each. Just stick a gun on one of them, and set all drones to assist that pilot.
2 mach/nightmare/etc.
A lot more isk on the line, but generally you are going to be breaking 1000dps on the low end, so more isk/tick with these. On the other hand, if you pull a stupid and someone catches you, its gonna hurt. You are also not going to be very inclined to move around a lot if you use these...
1 fighter carrier + 1 dps ship (tengu is most common):
Great if you only have 1 screen, just sit the carrier at a POS, assign fighters, and go to town with the dps ship. Dps ship gets about a 500dps boost from the fighters, which can increase isk/tick by about 5-10mil on average. Not quite as good as having 2 dps ships in a site, but a lot less that you have to pay attention to.
2 carriers in anom:
Here you can go with sentry or fighter carriers, with pluses and minus's for both.
With sentry carrier, if you fit it for max drones and dps, you can get 15 guarde 2's to do 1400dps at 55km. If something targets your drones, scoop, relaunch. If hostiles come insystem, scoop drones, jump out to safe cyno-beacon (or have a cynoship around somewhere). It really helps to be able to have a smaller ship that you can just set your sentries to assist though.
With a fighter carrier, your fighters can do 1500-1875dps (15 fighters, 1500 for anything but a thanny, 1875 for a thanny), you can always stay aligned to a POS, and if hostiles appear, you can warp to a POS and your fighters will follow you. Fighters will also go out to a max of 180km, so you can get whatever range you want, and they can also survive if a little abuse is thrown at them. Downside is travel time, and the fact that fighters take forever hitting cruisers and smaller, so your effective DPS is going to be significantly reduced.

I would recommend starting with a pair of domi's until you get used to the area, and then upgrading to whatever you want once you know how hot your area can get.
