How to get combat storyline missions?

Sorry if this has been asked before, I coudln't find it in first few pages.

Is there any method to increase your chances of getting offered a combat storyline mission instead of say, a distribution one?

Until there are more storyline missions produced, and CCP have the opportunity to separate them out into divisions, the answer to your question is "no".

Although storyline agents have a division, this is only nominal: you'll still get "Materials for War Preparation" from a Security agent, and you'll still get "Shipyard Theft" from a Distribution agent. They're all pulling missions from the same pool. CCP have made some noises about adding more storyline missions to the pool, and eventually splitting them up into Security/Distribution/Mining, but that hasn't happened yet.

No, but running distribution missions (which can be more easily parallelized than combat missions) should net you more storyline missions (and therefore more combat storyline missions) over time.
