It's bound to happen a few times as you bounce around lowsec and end up in a 0.5 system without realizing it.

I think I might have lost a Stabber that way at one point.

Meanwhile a T2 setup on a Catalyst can (for about 1.5bil isk less).

I know, I'm also disappointed when my $400 Chainsaw doesn't spread butter nearly as well as my neighbor's $.50 butter knife does.

Here's a story that I remember from when I was a kid that might prove relevant.

Warnings on gates into Hisec?? Oh come on .. HTFU like you tell the "carebears"

I must admit that this killmail warms the cockles of my heart.

Mack Pilot must have thought "oh crappit" before realising he'd just been given a concorde sanctioned reprieve

Yes, because thats a dangerous place to be. Highsec isn't.

Unless of course you're that guy and lose a Tengu to a barge.

lol... I wonder if the tengu pilot uses a t3 ship for every gank he makes. Relevant story indeed.

if the tengu pilot was so l33t why didnt he have a shield booster, the amplification node gives a shield booster bonus ??? but yet no booster. and 2 empty mid slots. a poster cant claim that a player is l33t when their not even fitting the tengu for the subsystems it has especially a defence subsystem.

Pilot had two ancillary shield boosters fitted (note cap booster charges in the mid slots). eve-kill hasn't been updated yet to deal with the new modules. It's also why you see a lot of Rattlesnakes, Ishtars, Curses etc. with empty low slots.

That Proteus pilot was either lying or spectacularly terrible.

There's a warning when you try to shoot someone in highsec.

I'll go with the later, just cause you got the skills to fly a Proteus, doesn't mean you are bright enough to use one.

Really? I can't recall ever seeing a warning going into low-sec but then I've not been there for years now.

There's warnings on missions that would take you into low-sec.

But then anyone can avoid going into low-sec or high-sec in the case of the pilot in question. If you stay focused and that's not hard.

If there is a warning leading into low-sec it's there for the newbies, in low-sec you don't have many newbies although I've no idea how many noobs there are in low-sec.

People moan about dumbing the game down, a warning into high-sec from low-sec would be a prime example of dumbing the game down if it was to happen.

There should be a warning dialog on every hisec gate:

"DANGER! You are entering the starter area of EVE, where CONCORD shoots you if you shoot others. Plus it's full of bears and players who think they aren't bears, but they are, or then they are just bad. So are you really sure you want to jump through, it stinks on the other side"

NO / CANCEL / ABORT

You'd have to go to settings to enable the YES option. This would prevent many accidental jumps into hisec and improve the overall game experience thx.

I could get behind this.

Accidentally entering HiSec as an outlaw is an awkward moment.

This ^^. Really, there should be a pop-warning when you jump from low-sec into high-sec.

there should be no warnings, if you're not aware of where you are going then perhaps you deserve the loss, same goes for jumping into low sec, i hate the hold your hand little pop ups in game, watch what your doing and all will be ok. last thing we need is the windows 7 style of,, are you sure you want to do this pop ups, lol

Actually on second thoughts, I agree. I've started to habitually be aware of the sec of wherever I'm going, I don't blind-jump anymore.

The window pop-ups that come up now and there are thoroughly annoying, but generally can be disabled after you view them.

That said, I don't think it'd be a bad idea to add a new warning which, like the other warnings, can be disabled after the first viewing.
