Many people on Mac have this issue, many people have not.
I see the random freezes on a two MacBook Pro for a two month, and I'm annoyed.

A little bit of a theory:
Maybe you now, EVE Client uses a sort of a "wine emulator" to start on a Mac OS X platform. Actually, this is a original MS Windows version, that runs inside a "wine" on a macos. Current situation is that some people have random freezes with this configuration, but a lot of a people uses this client well. At this time nobody found a solution for this freezes for a months.

I tried a few alternative ways to run original mswindows client with wine emulator. I have already had successful experience in the Ubuntu Linux (just because that's a UNIX too, like a Mac OS), and I was hoping that my experience will be useful on macos.

I tried to use:
1) PlayOnLinux project
2) WineSkin project
3) just to build a wine under a Mac OS X from scratch

I'm really not a programmer, I'm just an experienced linux system administrator, but I have spend a week to try all the options, I went through hundreds of options and configurations unsuccessfully.

Finally, after a week, I finally found the way to start EVE Client on mac, that working for me.
Please do not take this as an advertisement, I do not work with this vendor and have no commercial interest.
That's just an Parallels Desktop with an win7 and EVE Online inside.

This solution is working for me for a 2 day atm, no freezes, no any other issues.
I can not promise that this will work for you.

For me it's working with:
15'' MacBook Pro late 2011
16Gb Ram
Mac OS X 10.7.4
Parallels Desktop 7.0.15104 with Windows 7 inside.

Again, it's not an ad, I have no relationship with microsoft or parallels, it's just a solution just worked for me.
