EVE not starting up properly

When I start eve, the screen will flash back and forwards between my desktop and a black fullscreen about 3 times. Afterwards all I see is my desktop but I can't see my mouse ( assuming I'm in fullscreen mode for eve, but none of the graphics have loaded)

At this point I can hear the eve background music but can see or do nothing else. I can alt tab out, but when I alt tab back in to the game I get the same screen flashes.

I played eve on the same system towards the start of the year with no problems.

I'm running it on a hp dv6-6024tx laptop

Intel core i7-2630qm 2.0ghz
8.0GB Ram
Windows 7 64 bit
Radeon HD 6770M
Direct X 11

I've reinstalled the game once which didn't help and have tried running in safe mode which also didn't help.

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Managed to get it running in window mode for anyone else that has this problem.

The graphics card on this laptop (hd6770m) has a switchable graphics option. If i switch it to the power saving mode I can start eve up. From this point I set eve to run in window mode. Then I closed eve and switched the graphics back to the high performance mode an eve would load for me in windowed mode.

I can play eve now, just not in full screen.
