Has CCP ever thought about making this tournament a permanent event?

Like a league were you sign up once a year and then have a league fight twice a month or so...
Like a football or soccer league...

in sports rules dont change so fast ....
in eve its different from AT to AT with all the changes and ballancing

I have actually heard talk of this, more from CCP Claw before he left than anyone else, but it never seemed like anyone thought it would really happen.

If it's permanent, it's going to lose some of its significance. Maybe an additional winter tournament in addition to this summer event. Slightly different rule set/rewards for variation.

This existed for EVEFest or whatever, where they had to mine as much minerals as they could in 10 minutes, while shooting the other team and their miners.
