I think we will see more of the malices from PL. They have been very successful this tournament using high dps support to rush and kill the other teams logistics and malices fit this role perfectly.

I think PL would have done much better if they had brought windicators instead of bhaalgorns.

I suspect PL anticipated us bringing a setup revolving around our Vindicator flagship and tried to counter it. I could be wrong.

Regarding BoB vs SF, I think at this point only two of the pilots that flew in that match (of the Rote Kapelle crew) are still actively playing, myself and Neurotica (an alt of our alliance executor, Tyzzara). Atandros, another founder of Stimulus also flew in that match, Sakura Nihil, CEO of Selective Pressure (another corporation in Rote Kapelle) was the captain of that Star Fraction team, and at least one, possibly two more of the pilots who flew in that match came to either Stimulus or Rote Kapelle for some period of time. I can't remember exactly off the top of my head and I can't be bothered to go look it up.

Also, BoB had won 3 straight tournaments, had never lost a match, and had never lost a ship. They brought the exact same "unbeatable" setup to every match. Note that this was also in the time when ANY implants were allowed, including pirate sets, so you can bet they were running all HG pirate sets in that setup as well. I myself was flying a LG Slave clone that I still own to this day and use once in a while.

From the pl side it just as intense as it seemed. as far as the malices you people should play with them in eft they are ridiculous. props to rote for plalying there team well.

edit : also i seemed to have misplaced my chelm's nuet.

Sorry we killed you bud. Flagships are like that though. They don't, generally speaking, tank harder than the non FS variants, and they provide more dps/utility.

RE: Malices, I'm glad I didn't call a rush on them after the bhaals went down. It would have taken too much time, and we were super low on frigs after the guardian went down. They're so majestic I think I would have had a hard time firing that last shot. I did get close to running down Joe Fishy though Smile

eh if i was you i wouldn't be sorry about killing my 20b bhaal. but after we kill rvb this Saturday we will just have to agree to meet again in the final match.

If you want a rematch you're going to have to try to keep RvB's points low.

>69 points for RvB, assuming you beat kill it with fire with full point.

For what its worth, our goal is always the same, and that's to go for the shut out.... but as we know from last weekend... that doesn't always go as planned.

as a malice pilot,

that match was awesome. It was a complete blur, had to watch the match again to kick start my memory.

I was not scared to lose it, I just didn't want to die. I was doing like any other frig pilot. Live to win.

Awesome bit of history.

As someone who's been in ATs for awhile, do you feel taking away pirate implants made the matches better or worse? Should it be reconsidered?

I can't answer for my corp-mate, but I'll say, in my opinion, I think it's better. To many smaller alliances don't have the deep pockets to afford those kinds of implants.

And before people say, "to bad, sucks to be them," please remember this is a tournament, and not everyday Eve PvP. Everyone who gets in should be on the same level playing field. Granted bringing a wing of Malices isn't leveling the playing field *laughing* but I think you get my point. The tournament should be about skill, not about who can throw the most Isk into the best faction implants, tank, and dps to gain an edge.

Just my opinion, anyway.

And even if the isk were to be thrown into the team, hand over fist, the rock-paper-scissors of the AT will always present a counter that will best it, for a hundredth of the cost.

Being limited to t2 is great as it keeps strategy prioritised over wallets.

I had a look for interests sake at the team roster for 10 thorax match and it goes like this:

Atandros (would go on to join Rote)
Bacchanalian (would go on to join/lead Rote)
Backalley Anna (stayed with Jericho now sadly retired)
Jasmine Constantine
Jekaterine (stayed with Jericho for a few years, mostly retired)
Neurotica (whom I guess is Tyzarra)
Pharuan (stayed with Jericho)
Sable Shrodinger (stayed with Jericho)
Vardemis (stayed with Jericho)
Zudari (went with Rote I think)

Team captain coach Sakura Nihil.

Funny thing was that 6 out of 10 of those pilots were not really hard core PVP by any means - it was a real achievement for a bunch of flaky roleplayers just trying a bold heroic tactic against the then top powerhouse in Eve alliance warfare.

Any which way, good luck to Rote Kapelle for the remainder of the tournament. I know we've had our differences at times but its good to see some old comrades doing well and kicking over the mighty!
