Help with fleet mining

Have 2 accounts. Currently have a hulk and mammoth (and working on the Orca) for a 2 man mining fleet.

Mammoth pilot currently has Mining Foreman IV and I'm trying to utilize the 8% mining yield fleet bonus that comes with it, but I think I'm missing something here.

I see the mammoth pilot needs to be assigned the "Fleet Commander" position in the fleet in order to utilize the mining yield bonus, but when I assign the fleet commander position, I get the red "x" stating I do not have the skill to utilize the bonus as fleet commander.

So...

Does that mean, in order to utilize Mining Foreman mining yield bonus for my two man fleet, I must first train all the way up to Fleet Command I ?

Thanks for any help!

It need to be the squad comander not the fleet comander. A fleet must have all the levels between the pilot giving the bonuses and the pilot receiving the bonuses filled by plaers who are in space and in the same system as the fleet with the necessary leadership skill to handle the number of pilots directly below them in the heirarchy

That did the trick. Getting the bonus now.
Thanks a lot!

Where did you get the impression that the mining foreman needs to be the fleet commander? Is that due to the wording of the Mining Foreman skill?

Mining Foreman wrote:
Basic proficiency at coordinating mining operations. Grants a 2% bonus to fleet members' mining yield per level. Note: The fleet bonus only works if you are the assigned fleet booster.

I can see that wording causing similar confusion for all new players who don't have better advice. Perhaps we need to report this as a bug? Wording such as the following might be better:

Many skills says "fleet booster" when it really means any booster position in fleet, i.e. fleet booster, wind booster or squad booster.

The booster role needs to be assigned.

also, the leadership positions of each thing in use need to be filled by appropriate people.

So if you're all in squad one, squad one needs a commander who has enough leadership to cover everyone in that squad, if you want the boosters bonuses to apply.

If you have a wing level booster, you need an appropriate wing commander, and squad commander. and so on.

Woo! CSM XI!

dont forget to tank your minning vessel.

There are suicide gankers every where. Keep an I on whose in local. If you suspect a suicide ganker, look them up on Battle clinnic kb and look for recent hulk kills etc on there account.

I'm not trying to scare you I just dont want your good time mining to end sourly and abruptly
