As a non-capsuleer "baseliner", I would normally keep to my usual_channels, however, in light of the potential loss of life that may be inflicted if a capsuleer mob does indeed march on the Thukker Mix HQ in M-MD3B today as planned, I am here in the hope of appealing for the event to be stopped.

Why should some many people be put in danger for a simple ship redesign? Stop this madness, please.

I think you misunderstand somewhat; it's not the simple choice of design that the Thukkers have gone for; it's the fact that they've clearly had their agents infiltrate our private hangars and forced the design upon us.

It's anti personal freedom and it's anti-minmatar; I'm amazed that the Thukker's have stooped so low as to enforce a common 'uniform' as if we were all mind-washed amarrian zombies.

My dear, poor cloning-addled capsuleers. You miss my point entirely.

Whether or not you agree with how your ships look is really not important. The protest went ahead and as a result, many ships were destroyed - undoubtedly some of them had crews. Figures aren't currently available to someone of my standing, but I'm certain there would have been significant, senseless loss of life.

Yet this very conversation underlines the desperate travesty of these times we live in. People died whilst you all bickered about whether a meaningless structure should be considered ears or eyebrows. Who among you raised a finger to stop this?

I despair of my own species and the direction it now takes.

Truly, you are mad gods, one and all.

Mad gods we may be, but at least someone stood up to Thukker's tyranny.

The loss of life is unfortunate and horrid, given the ridiculousness of the purpose behind it. I would urge you not to brand all capsuleers as "mad gods" primarily because we are not gods and not all of us are "mad." Some of us would have tried to stop it but were prevented from doing so due to logistical problems, such as being a war target to the Minmatar (where this event took place) and likely never making it to the protest to start with.

For those of us that still place value on human life and realize the travesty this has been, it is a time of silence and reflection that should renew our conviction to stand for those oft forgotten.

While I don't particularly care about the looks of my ships (and don't fly Vagabonds in any case), there are two issues here.

First, how did existing ships get refitted without their owners' consent? I presume that CONCORD staff or contractors did this work, and that's unacceptable.

Second, baseliner lives are not the same as ours. I recognize that this is a bit of a tautology, but we are the ones driving humanity forward. Their lives are so short that missing a decade or two on the end matters far less in the long run than our goals. And if CONCORD, or anyone else, interferes with our goals, the blood of the baseliners who die as a result is on its hands.

Disgusting.

Perhaps their lives are fleeting compared to ours in theory, but any loss of life is a tragedy.

Incorrect and illogical. The blood of the slain is on the hands of the slayer. Seeking to absolve oneself by transferring the guilt to another party is a fallacy that only the most ignorant succumb to.

Where does your sudden hatred for CONCORD comes from exactly, if I may ask ?

CONCORD is just an obstacle. I don't hate them any more than I hate debris in a road: it simply needs to be removed for our journey to continue.

With the exception of some Amarr ships, the crew of capsuleer vessels are their by their own reasons, and are not forced into the ships unwillingly. Just like any ship of the various national navies, there is the risk of loss of life and dismemberment. They chose to crew those vessels, unfortunate as it may be.

And to dispel any rumors of secret spies and CONCORD interference, the fins were removed under the terms of the ongoing warranty contracts that come automatically with the purchase of the ships. Similarly, Drake owners received upgrades to their launcher hard-points that allowed for more efficient mounting of weapons. Once again, capsuleers asleep at the helm when it comes to reading contracts. Roll

Exactly my crew is paid well and any remainder is sent post mortem to their next of kin if thats still not enough I dock up to a regular enough schedule that any of them that wish may leave, theres plenty more of the baseliner population lining up to do the job, risks and all.

Oh, Do go on... no seriously ive got nothing better to do then listen to all the petty arguments and feeble trolling attempts...

The sad thing is i'm not sure if i'm telling the truth.

It's people like you that made me understand why non-pats wished we'd all just up and die. The 'verse would be a better place without us, at least until humanity grows up and gets over itself.
