what is going on?

my eve client has been working fine all day, ive been logging on and off throught the day never had an issue up to 30 minutes ago

now im getting that error when i try to start eve and nothing is working. repair is obviously crap

Well if being mature is required..


I would suggest you go try the issues, workaround, and localization section, where issues such as yours are posted, solved, and discussed. I would suggest you run repair.exe located in the EVE installation folder and If neither works, uninstall and reinstall client.

If maturity not required.

Lol idiot mouthbreather, this is GD, not "I suck at computers fix it for me" forum, go diaf, bad spacepet, EN GARDE AWFUL, etc etc etc.

Really though. this is not the tech help section, take it elsewhere.

All jokes aside, it's honestly what I'd recommend and probably your fastest solution. I've tamed many a program from photoshop to chrome (I have no idea how i got chrome to hate me) simply by restarting my computer.

If you're still having a problem afterward, then you might have a problem.

Edit: and I would also recommend what he said ^^^

Its a launcher error, and it looks like someone let a type mismatch error slip through. Odd it isn't causing problems for more people.

Maaaaaybe this is really specific data corruption?

I get this error about once every 20 or so startup attempts.

Guess what? Closing the error message and booting the client up again works...

It sorta looks like the launcher's failure to connect to the server / internet error condition has some sloppy code. Would be pretty easy to test, but I'm busy with work that requires my interwebs.

Go into your games install directory and locate the bin folder.

Try bypassing the launcher by running the ExeFile executable directly from that folder.

For now that should work fine.. But your going to have to figure out what the problem is and correct it eventually.

Same here, that error box appears once in a while. I close the error window and restart the client and it's fine. It's an uncaught exception, probably a type mismatch as previously mentioned.
