So I just picked up a retribution, and got a decent pve fit for it. Can anyone give me some suggestions on what the most profitable PVE for an assault frig is? Solo preferably. Obviously I can do missions, but I'm not sure that's reaching the height of profitability.

Suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Well, what quickly come to mind is doing 3/10 DED complexes, or kick a hole in the sky and find some empty c1 wormholes.

Both activities require scanning skills though.

Thanks for the info. I'll look into those. Can both be done in highsec? Or is this low/null sec stuff?

3/10 DED is highsec.

C1 Wormhole entries could be find in highsec but wormholes are pretty much null sec in terms of security/aggression mechanics.

The lack of mids make Retributions' fittings a little hard to figure.

You will kill something? 4 pulses plus a salvager - mid slot an AB - low slots Damage control, armor rep, 2 hardeners and the fifth low is up to you. Maybe a heat sink you your skills are high enough not needing a Cap flux coil.

You will scan something? 3 pulses, salvager, scan probe - mid slot a hacking or whichever scanning mod you require - lows get the same, plus a cpu enhancer that maybe will be needed.

Rigs are up to you also. Customize it for damage or scanning strenght. Anyway, the already famous CCC will not be necessary if you already has L4 cap skills at least.

Nevertheless I always say - never undertrain your skills. It's better not to fly a ship then to fly it with poor skills.

Go get 'em! Big smile

the retribution would be a good ship to fly against rogue drones. unfortunately, drones are useless.

I should buy an Ishtar.

I just got an AF the other day too and it's amazing. I'm addicted to exploration and with a frigate hull you can run the smaller unrated plexes that you would normally have to skip in cruiser and BC hulls.

My scanning skills are still low and without a scanning bonus it does take a while to find stuff, but I really enjoy it. I've done a bunch of L3 missions too without any trouble. Not as fast as with a BC but much more interesting!

Exploration is really competitive and sooo hit or miss it is like a box of lotto tickets thrown into a crowd. Yesterday I spent all day running plexes and ended up with 10 faction/deadspace armor plating worth ~8mil total :( But then I logged in last night and got an escalation that dropped a Snake Omega implant that I sold for 400 million!

I think you can probably do everything a T1 navy cruiser can do, but that observation is just from what friends can do in their navy cruisers (I don't have one).

If you're even asking these questions, your "decent PVE" fit comes into question.

Wormholes are cool, m'kay?

The fit was given to me by an 8-year vet, so no.

Just because someone has been playing for 8years doesn't make them an expert. There are plenty of people out there with less than a year under their belt that have a great grasp of the mechanics of the game and vets that never leave Jita.

Just some ramblings from a 9 year vet...

If I'd said "someone who has been playing 8 years" you might have a point, but the word "vet" usually implies a level of expertise.

Is it time for the obligatory "sell it and buy a Wolf!" poast yet?

Given that I'm not trained for a Wolf, no. Not yet.
